Our 2016 XFS looks just as good and feels just as solid now as it was when new.
I think a lot of it has to do with how you take care of it. We never beach ours and it never sits out in the sun all day long while it’s not being used.
I know the OP wasn't really asking about adding a second tank for extra capacity, but a few people have mentioned it, so I thought I'd post this.
We have 2 skis with a second fuel tank and people always ask how to do it. I drew up this diagram a few years back to show a friend how to do it.
If your detrimined to do it, I wonder if you could turn it upside down like this, and convert a fuel tank vent to a small primer reservoir rather than using a gallon tank.
Plastic bags don't work too well IMO. I bought a $10 waterproof case made for an iPhone at Target. Hard plastic with an o ring seal, two tight latches and perfect size. It holds the registration, $$ for emergency and boating DL that we are required to carry. It fits under tank straps. I would...
Good write up.
I tried using Colorite a few years back, followed all their directions to the letter, but didn't turn out to well. If I was painting a ski white, is there anything in a spray can that would work well?
I ran the Group K 849 kit for several years, but unfortunately I don't know the jet sizes. When I bought it they set the carbs up for me. I would call them, I would think they would help get you in the ballpark.
I don't know if it's right, but i use a tiny drop of super glue to attach the ends together and then a drop of 1211 on both sides of the joint to seal it when I torque it down. I've never had a leak so far.
***** SOLD******* For sale is a used Dasa 1000 engine. 10mm stroke X 89.5mm bore, set up to run on 91-93 octane (44cc domes). It came in our TC Freeride Rickter XFS when we bought it new in 2016. It is a great engine, has always been maintained well and runs great. It has plenty of power for...
I'm no expert, but I wanted to know the answer to that same question. I fired up our Dasa 1000 on the trailer and unlatched the hood. I put a few fingers between the hood and the ski and blipped the throttle. I was shocked at how hard it pulled the hood down and smashed my fingers. That test...
I would add the RRP scoop. I didn't order a hood scoop with our XFS, but after feeling how much it sucked the hood down when you barely blip the throttle I added one.
It's pretty easy to install. I moved it around on the hood and found the right spot for it. I cut a 4" hole that lined up...
I suppose I could have a couple issues going on, but If I have no voltage at the starter when the start button is pressed and the solenoid just clicks, I don’t see how it could be the starter.
I need to check the battery voltage while it’s actually cranking.
