Cast price really shouldn't be better. A cast manifold has a huge up front cost in pattern development, and fixtures are needed to hold each part in multiple orientations for post machining. It isn't cheap. Factor in rework and scrap rates and it gets expensive and labor intense. Billet...

Pretty much zero parts are usable in a superjet. Not the pump, not the tripple electrical, not the midshaft,or motor mounts. It's junk. The start/stop switch can be salvaged, but that's it.

Why isn't the top case discolored? Looks like the bottom was heated up separately. Was the lower case welded?
