    24-7 backflip 7mm lamey build

I think you're right. There aren't very many motors that will power flatwater flips with an OEM hull. Even Parr wasn't making them all the way around and he's the man. When is the motor supposed to be delivered anyway? Hopefully soon. I can't wait to hear how it runs. Should be interesting.

So lately I've been thinking of running race gas

Not very many people run compression numbers as high as you mentioned. 205-220ish is the norm on race gas. If you need more than that on a fully built motor, something is wrong with your setup. Compression numbers much higher than that are covering up a builder's inadequacies in other areas...

    What intake should I get?

Almost nothing. The Boyesen casting is a bit nicer and it uses orings between the plate and manifold. If you're gonna get the complete maifold/reed setup, I believe the Dominator/M-16(with replacement petals) is better than the Boyesen manifiold/reed combo. Just my opinion.

Waterdawg DRYPIPE testing VIDEO featuring the "SAVAGE"

I'll say this. In Daytona, your boat was the only one that I saw really nosing in flips on flatwater. Looks good Jeff!

    VILDER cdi

I don't know if they sold it, but Jetworks had a new Vilder brain in stock a while back. You might want to check with Robert and see if he still has it. Charles Jetworks 949-548-5259

    Blackjacks suck for freestyle?wtf?

That's actually true and it was not really a fair fight. Yours was still stock plus FA's and mine was a race gas ported 650 in a little bitty 550 hull. You can blame the selling it on Tricky. He just had to let me ride his boats.:mischievous: It's all been downhill since then.

Your boat went around the corners MUCH better.

    Blackjacks suck for freestyle?wtf?

I can't speak to anyone else's experience, but my intro to BlackJacks was with a single 44 on a Kawasaki 650 motor in a 550 hull. I didn't really have any unusual problems. I was pretty scared of the prospect of tuning duals for a long time and ran singles up until a few years ago. Edit: It...

    Blackjacks suck for freestyle?wtf?

That's true. I've actually only bought one carb from Jetworks. All of my other Blackjacks have been bought used.

    Blackjacks suck for freestyle?wtf?

Haha! In all seriousness, if switching from the carbs you currently have to another brand makes a tremendous difference, you either had buckshots or what you had weren't tuned very well. The 3 or 4 brands most of us use work really well once they're setup. The reason I went with BlackJacks...

    Blackjacks suck for freestyle?wtf?

I think the best bet for you is to read all of the info on the Jetworks website and if it doesn't make sense, call Art and ask him what you want to know. My basic understanding(VERY basic and possibly incorrect) is that because of the billet venturi design, a low pressure area is created at the...

    Blackjacks suck for freestyle?wtf?

The words in red are the most important. I have the ear of the best builder in the business and I listen very carefully to what he says and try to be an apt pupil. On the boat you rode I just installed the jets Art thought would be close and have not changed them since. It responded as...

    Blackjacks suck for freestyle?wtf?

I think the gist of the stuff you quoted is that BlackJacks have the ability to flow as much or more than any other race carbs(like buckshots) while still allowing for easy tuning and the kind of response that a rec boat needs. They don't require total loss and high compression to work well...

    What next?

I agree that the entire package is what makes it all work well, but what Chuckie quoted for $5000 doesn't appear include the stinger mod, FA's, carbs, or anything else. That's a tremendous amount of cash for a motor built on an OE casting. I was really just asking for a price breakdown showing...
