NICE! I have literally been planning to do the same thing. I love boating, but can't be away from my ski while on the lake. I've got some ideas on how I would do it, but would love to see details on your setup! Pics? How do you get it on and off there?

Ya they're versiplugs. I just switched to them after the chop job. Friends I ride with love them so I figured I'd give them a shot. I had the normal plugs in there before and I would always drain a ton of water anyway after each ride. Even after the refoam/new tray. At least its got home depot...

I just cut -4 off my SN a couple weeks ago. Was relatively easy. I did it with the tray closed though which wasn't ideal. I was still pretty happy with the way it came out. I used biaxial for the first few layers to give it a solid framework and then used cloth to get around the corners...

Great post and pics. I too had no idea such fine adjustments could make such a large difference in spray pattern till I hooked up my headpipe to a gardenhose to check it out.
Big update boys. Swapped in a buddy's OEM relay last night and had her out all morning. Ski ran excellent with no cranking clicks or misses. Thanks for all the replies guys! Guess it is possible to burn through three crappy relays after all!
Just tried testing the solenoid by disconnecting the cable running to the starter. Left the pos cable from the battery on as well as the relay pos and neg. Bridged the posts with an ohm meter, started clicking away and got no reading. If I correctly understand how the solenoid works, this...
