Try with a loose pole and strong spring. A tight pole killed my elbow.

How will the pull cable work when the steering nozzle is turned? You'll have to mount the cable end on the nozzle itself?

You can use sjet ride plate. You will have grind about 5mm off either side and elongate 1 pair of holes.

Have a look at the seals on your throttle butterfly shaft. They could be worn and leaking and would explain why blipping the throttle cures it.
