    62t RN build advice

This is my humble advice. Take it for what it's worth. 1. Get rid of the MSD coil. They generally suck as compared to a genuine OEM unit. The MSD CDI is good. Turn it all the way up and run it. 2. As far as carbs go I've had the best luck with the stock 38s. They give the best low end. I've...

    RICKTER talk

I was told that tray dimensions between the edge and FS/FR were the same. I have not verified this.

I feared the same. I've towed multiple times in surf and use the thrust eye. It's also where I attach to pull onto the cart. I check the bolt frequently and haven't had any issues.

The best covers I've seen are those H20 Industries covers. They are trailerable and fleece lined. If I didn't live so close to the ocean I'd have one.

I have the simple RRP with no water inlets and it's a nice fit. Make sure you get the foam perch for it.

Will a flooded Rickter Float or Sink???

Yes. Imagine one shaped for around a motor and filling the nose. A horseshoe of sorts. Cheesy, well sure. Am I too proud if I thought it would help? Definitely not. You can push a little harder and feel a bit better about it if you are prepared for bad things.

If that's the case I think it's valid. Is there more information on this..

Will a flooded Rickter Float or Sink???

I've often thought a tray without foam possessing drain plugs would be the best. Then you know if a tray leaks. The only time this would be a disadvantage is if you broke the tray and it sunk right then and there. I'm currently dealing with an fr2 full of pink foam but the foam is wet. How wet...

Will a flooded Rickter Float or Sink???

Good call on the hood. I noticed my hood had escaped the latch the other day. The latch was still latched and locked but the hood had somehow gotten unhooked from the latch. The straps saved me I suppose. I was riding a river weir and surfing it. Maybe the handle pole crashed hard enough to...

Will a flooded Rickter Float or Sink???

I've filled the nose of my fr2 with foam pool noodles and any other place that makes sense like under the b pipe ECT. I don't know if it help but it can't hurt.

Will a flooded Rickter Float or Sink???

Does the foam even matter if the tray is uncompromised as far as leaking? Displacement is displacement. Foam will only be better if the tray is breached in my opinion. In fact trapped air should provide more floatation than foam.

I know a Rickter flatwater ski goes down in a hurry if the hood comes off.

    Rickter fr2 hood seal

My apologies if this has been covered but I didn't find what I was after using the search function. At any rate I've built an fr2 raw and love the ride but am ending up with more water inside than I like. This is a surf boat and it's far wetter than my superjet ever was with a Watcon type...

True, my friend's ski is already pretty short as I'm a foot taller than him. I'm just getting mine built and dialed in.
