no its different

i dont think calling them tubbies is going to help the court case for yamaha Ha ha

is it me but does the inlet for the pump look different at the front

Is that supposed to be a good thing? :dunno:
(From a non-racer point of view)
While I love the way the SXR handles, I hated the added weight so having an SXR style hull in a light SJ package is all bonus to me.

But I guess it depends how one rides if they will like this all new design. I ride more race style (left foot mostly forward under lip) and certainly not 100% feet locked in "flatwater" freestyle style.

BTW: When do you guys think ETA will be?

From the view of the bottom of the hull, If that is the old square rideplate does that mean that the hull is shorter since it kinda extends out the back about a inch and half or 2 inches? or is it just an extended ride plate?

Cool as hell. Someone ride this thing already! Didn't someone say that a pro rider was testing these? If that's the truth I doubt that this is gonna suck at all. Seriously. I think that the side sponsons are cool. Just wonder if they are big enough? :dunno: Could be considering that the hull is just that much wider than the rear anyway. I think that everyone will want one after the reports.

I think it is awesome... I like that the top deck and all other components are the same... just for the switching of parts. I think the bottom deck is gonna rock... I too am wondering when the ETA is, and do I need to sell my square and go into debt??? that is the big question. haha.

Well I'm kinda bummed it didn't have the 760 w/dual 44s. Since they put the 701 in the couch maybe they are getting ready for fuel injection on the '09?:afro:

i think everyone should start buying the new one and put their RN hulls up for sale... but wait until later in the fall, that's when I'm gonna be looking for one...

that reduction nozzle is definitely hiding a trim ring... excellent for doing the cats...a trim tube and through hull and youre set. This looks to be an excellent freeride ski...little less so flatwater...but freeride is the future. The back of the hull is also concaved in and no longer at a 90. looks good yamaha, thanks for the improvements

Very nice little changes to the beast we all know today. These are the little things that weve been complaining we wish yamaha would change for years, they finally do it and we are dissapointed? Im satisfied

no need to add a trim tube, get rid of the stock bilge, your tube is already there!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't you been paying attention? :chairshot:

The intake gullet and pump has been moved back almost 2 inches. The only reason why the ride plate is sticking out is because Yamaha is too cheap to re-tool for a new plate (at least this pre-production version). I'm also really diggin' the deeper chines too. Flatwater (freestyle) guys are going to hate this hull.

An no, this isn't a "square nose ride plate." Even the other RN (up to 2007) have a 6 hole rideplate from factory (as pictured on this '08 model)...but on the prior RN they don't drill the middle holes. The 6 counter sunk area is still there.

When do the new Yamaha's generally come out?
