Our B2 was around 380 or so. I would guess this is pushing 400

Even if hull is the same weight as b2, it would have to weigh alot more than 20lbs. more. The 800 crank, cases, pipe, etc. weigh alot more than a 760.

When Xscream started prototyping their 800 based motor, we were finding cases for them. Was surprised how much bigger and heavier the 800 cases and parts are.

If there is a 2019 superjet its either unchanged or there won't be one at all. Iv seen the 19 4 stroke engine lineup and the superjet was not listed.

Not sure how reliable the info was, but I heard fr om a well known modification shop2020 with the 3 cylinder 4-stroke. Remain small, not like the 1500 SX-R Sounds feasible but I don't know how accurate the info is, only time will tell.

i heard they arent ever going to get rid of it, and we are going to be abel to buy them until the end of time. Also heard they are releasing a 3400cc 2 seater superjet, and you'll get to pick your own colors, long ass ride plate, and aftermarket flame arrestors right from the factory.

prove me wrong

My friend is the manager at a Yamaha dealer and just spoke with the watercraft rep last week. The 4 stroke superjet does exist and has been testing for quite a while now and is said to be great. Last month the rep said that it was finalized and should be announced shortly. On his visit last week he said he had just gotten news that corporate was shelving it again and that it might be dead at this point so don't expect anything. His reasoning was that Yamaha has seen the sales numbers of the Kawasaki and they don't think there is a market even though the new 4 stroke superjet is nothing like the big Kawasaki.

The market wants a Tr1 Waveblaster 3.

I'm not really sure what it would take for me to buy a 4-stroke... My 2016 is light, feels like it is glued to the water, the 701cc 2-stroke is fast, and has very easy maintenance. Maybe EFI would be a nice step up? But the twin Mikunis are great. I think a DI 2-stroke twin would be better.

The big issue is emissions. I agree on there is nothing better about the weight and ease of 2-strokes but the emissions is what is killing any new ones. The one Yamaha has in the works from what I was told is basically the existing superjet with a 4 stroke engine so it would have been basically the same as we have now.

I can't imagine it in the surf though because any water ingestion and it's game over.

Now the transfer port injected 2-stroke KTM just released might just work for skis.....

Hopefully they would add a 4stroke to the line up rather then replace the 2 stroke.
I am pretty sure the days of the 2-stroke in the superjet are numbered as they are at the end of their emissions status and the "closed course" and "competition use" will only take them so far. The other issue is they are just not selling so it is only a matter of time before Yamaha pulls the plug. THere are dealers that don't even want them because they just don't sell. My friend that manages a dealership was offered a couple new in the crate 2018 superjets for $5,000 each from an out of state dealer because he can't give them away. Unfortunately for us in California they can't be sold or titled.

Apparently not or the dealers wouldn’t be trying to unload them. I think other than the small group of followers here they just don’t sell in numbers. Most of the population wants couches.

They would have to have it inspected my USCG, most likely the added weight will cause it to fail the floatation test. This is why the Kawi is so huge. It is proportional to the weight of the ski and how well it floats. is what determines what size it has to be. If Kawi had come out with a lighter 3 cylinder that weighed less, most likely that hull would have been between the SXR and the Current SXR hull size.

The only hope for the future of two stroke standups is if Yamaha comes up with something similar to the Skidoo Rotax E-Tec engine. Yamaha was the first snowmobile manufacturer to switch to a 100% 4-stroke lineup, but lots of riders still prefer the lighter 2 strokes for deep snow. If skidoo can pull off a clean burning 2 stroke in snowmobiles, why can't yamaha pull it off with pwc's?

The EPA does not want any fun recreational activities other than hiking in nature. Even that, someday, might be deemed too much when it displaces some endangered frogs.
