Beach cart ramp project

yup - what he said...now, if we can just get a few more peeps to step up and help pay for materials....

Keep a running tally on how much more is needed to cover materials in this thread , If people CAN SEE what is still needed they may be more willing help , I am willing to help some with $ if it keeps somebody from ruining their vacation with a unecessary injury'' I hate getting hurt '' ..... Paypal addy ???OR what ? This is a great idea on a new ramp ... the old one is TOO steep to even walk down .......10 ftwould be great with pins at top or something to grab the seawall as the bottom sinks in the sand during use .IMO

Mick's got to see what scrap he has at home or he can borrow from the workplace :shhh: then we can make a material list.

I found some 2x2 and 4x2 angle on CL today, a bit to far to drive to make it worthwhile - but I'll keep looking.

It's dangerous, and it's crap, and one guy can't load/unload his own ski by himself, etc etc., for the petty $$$ it'll take to replace it, let's just replace it.

Only scrap I have is some 1 1/4 x 1/4 angle iron and some 1 1/2" tubing. I pretty much used up all my good scrap. Everything else is saved for projects. My work does not carry any angle or square tubing. Only round tubing.

expanded metal sizes for an example, these are small pieces.

Piece of aluminum tread plate, we need a big piece of this for the top, that would be bad ass.

One of the guys I went with in 2006 totally shredded his foot on it and had to go to the ER.

It's a beach, not everyone wears shoes there and it could be made better/safer.

Here we go.....now we have to legislate properly to keep the ignorant from killing themselves, even on this stupid little ramp project.

Now, if we are really a true reflection of our American society, the whole project will get lost in debate, and 5 years from now we'll still have the original, unsafe, ramp.

Damn Democrats.

OK ....... I'll spring for the use at your ''own risk'' sign with ''shoes only '' !.........BTW If everybody brings a shovel we could build a SAND ramp 20 ft long !! but somebody might twist an ankel on that too so........... mabe not ?

can't do that due to the seagrass at the base of the wall.

Form a committee to come up with recommendations, then another to fund raise, another for final approval, submit it to Nick for approval, then solicit bids to build it within the budget, fire the builder for not meeting deadlines, hire another but not have the money to pay due to the first money being tied up with the fired builder while you sue to recoup those funds, etc etc.
