Tray is foamed up. I will be glassing the back of the hull later tonight. Perhaps even glassing in the tray shut too.... but i doubt it.

apparently ran out of paint brushes so no glass work tonight. But I did do a good amount of foaming and sanding, so I sure hope I sealed up all those trim and steering tubes good..... I matched up the rear of the bottom deck and flushed the foam. Hopefully tomorrow will bring a full day of work, with the completion of the tray and footholds. I seem to have lost the piece of tray i cut out so I may just do straight biax as the floor. I only have 1 yard left so i hope its enough, I think I'll need a good 3 layers with an absolute minimum of 2....

New mask in action. Proof that I do indeed wear one.

And my shop is a total wreck. I'm buzzing about trying to do so many projects at once I am in a total frenzy.... After daytona there will be a Major spring cleaning.

ps :):):):) being sick. Daytona calls for 3 am work nights.

So since I lost my removed tray floor I layed down 2 layers of biax. I hope its enough. Logic tells me that 2 biax layers is way stronger than that ribbed SMC crap they use stock. If I have the opportunity I am going to lay down a 3rd layer.

I also got the rear of the hull done, so now all i have to do is foam up the footholds and watch for leaks and a LOT of sanding. Im hoping to have the bottom deck painted by daytona. So if you viewers out there are reading, Look for the red 550 (and probably one of the three 550s out there... :eek5:) with a bright copper bottom. Oh and I'll be the one flailing off the waves since Ive never test riden this boat.... awesome.

All with 5 days left till daytona... and i still have 14 court ordered community service hours and a 8 hour street racing course ... oh and my normal college classes.... all to finish by friday.

Awesome!

Trimmed the tubes and glued everything in good. Then just a bunch of sanding with a crappy jitter bug. Dumbauss friend took home my nice black and decker random orbital.

My patented Paint shaker as well shown....

Sprayed the hammered copper. Either my gun was clogged or the paint was just to damn thick but I had trouble spraying. It came out like a fiberglass chop gun, all in strands. But as it got thicker, it started to emulify. A few pictures show the paint starting to thicken as it drys.

Tomorrow I will be busy as hell, but I hope to pressure wash the engine bay. Spray that if I have time. If not I'll just install the motor and call it quits for lake testing on wednesday.

It was probably high 60s... not really sure. I didnt think as the only thing I had laying around at 10 pm was denatured alcohol and that wouldnt work properly. I plan on fixing up some of my painting errors after daytona. I mainly wanted this to make sure the hull has a final sealing layer.

This morning I pressure washed the engine bay... didnt get around to painting it. Not that important to me I guess right now. Didnt come all that clean but got most of the grime out.

I didnt bother to sand smooth the old outlet patch because the tubbies cover it and I didnt see the point to spend time sanding what will not show in the long run.

Fitted the nose cap and exhaust outlet. Using this access cover is the only way I can really get in and install the hoses for the exhaust. You can also see my west marine $28 D ring bow eye. I cant believe people would pay that much for that piece.... But it is nice.

Now I'm off to a full day of school. Hurray for being done at 10pm.....

The motor goes in late tonight, Seems I wont have time to get the bed plate sandblasted and powdercoated.

On a side note, Im pretty sure that since this engine sits so low compared to stock yamaha and 550 configurations that after daytona I will be chopping about 3-4 inches out of the nose and the hood...... Everything will be lowered. That will be fun.

Motor installed just in time for daytona. Had some trouble with kawi throttle cable with yami motor, but figured it out.

Bilge wiring all redone and routed. As well. Replaced all screws to stainless, and just finished up random odds and ends. On my way to turn my deep scoop into a toploader.

Got my new riva filter setup and found out its to tall....

My 9/17 hooker with 6mm cutback will be here friday.

lol, on the above!

I do hope everything falls together smoothly for you, and that you get to ride your ski in Daytona! It sounds like it might happen!!! If so, find me on the beach, so we can get pics of her first salt voyage. You have really worked so very hard on this, and I think everyone wishes to see your ski there honestly.

Best of luck! :cheer::cheer::cheer: Things will be hectic today, so text me if you are still swinging by the house later. :wavey:

Thanks Trav

Heres the toploader... Welded this piece into the mariner intake grate and Vwa La! Instant Worx 201 for the 650 pump. Got it all powdercoated up and nice and pretty for daytona. Its not quite straight.. but its close enough for a last minute effort.

And looks like the everything is in tonight... I got the superjet steering cable to work perfectly and rigged up a old steering cable as a trim cable.

Tomorrow afternoon is lake test but first I have a few things like foaming the footholds and a last coat of resin in the tray to make sure its water proof.

Cant wait for the impeller to be here so I have to take the pump out again.... =\
