Well yea, thats the plan. I'm just unsure of how I should go about it.

I think Im going to cut the nose off as is now, then make a plug out of some foam. Lay a first layer down of matting or Eglass, then pull the foam and continue glassing the nose onto the ski.

I have to make measurements on how much I can cut down the hood with my flame arrestors. The 701 sits much lower than a 650/750, so I'll be in luck in this department.

well, remember the picture I showed you of the sxi bracket on my 440? well I'm scappin' that configuration. I'm going to cut it wider so it will allow me to get down onto the side of the bracket with a wrench. that way I don't have to remove the bracket to remove the pole, or replace the spring. I'm going to use a bracket like this:

so, it will use an aftermarket pole, X-metal, xft, team bill pole, etc...

I've got to tell you Fox, I like following this build.
I think it's neat to see people do innovative things to older hulls.

Keep it up.

thats what I have in plan for it as well. I was wondering why you were gonna put so much effort into a silly 750 bracket.

well, my original plan was to baseplate for the 750 bracket and clean out all the ribs and crap inside the bracket and make a narrow enough aluminum handlepole to fit in there so I wouldn't have to remove the bracket. but I figured it would be a lot less trouble to just cut it wider to accept the handlepole bracket and still be able to access the side without removal. I could still use the sxi bracket with the updated config if I wanted to, but that xft billet bracket is a lot stronger than the cast sxi pos.

I am in absolute shock, every time I click on this thread, there is always something crazy being done. There are so many things that Fox can do and I know he is taking everything into account. So many things can be/will be modified to this thing. I would bet money that in the next 2 months, no one would know that it was a Kawasaki hull. Can't say enough of how in awe I am of this build. Someone should sponsor Foximus. He is truly an innovator and producing a great thing for the sport.

we've been putting 750 engines and pumps in 440's and 550 hulls since the early days of the 650 sx's, those were the first pumps we used. Fox is the first one I've seen administer a yamaha engine into one though. hell I saw a guy put a friggin' kz 1000 motor in a 440 one time. crazy stuff.

I know a guy that was race sponsored by the house of kawasaki back in the day. he took a sawzall and cut 4 1/2 " off of the bottom of one hull, then cut just the bottom surface off of another, then grafted the 4 1/2" section onto the one he cut the surface from, just so he could install a friggin wetbike pump..lol, if you've ever seen a wetbike pump, those things are about as big around as a bowling ball. he put some kind of 3 cylinder suzuki motor in it, I don't even know what the motor was out of, but he made a damned drag boat standup out it.
