Brocks Gulf Tribute Build! **Test Ride\Problems**

if you used epoxy primer i wouldn't even try using the same gun to shoot base with. i made this mistake also but as soon as it happened i went and bought a new gun and that did the trick. Lowes small gravity feed gun works well and its only 39$.

That sucks. Why do epoxy primer and basecoat not get along? I never shot primer with the gun but I used the harbor freight guns for 3 ski's and a jeep with no problems.

epoxy primer is REALLY REALLY sticky and gummy. I guess it gummed up the gun? But I ran paint thinner\acetone through it after I was done spraying to make sure there was no primer left. Sucks because this wasnt my gun.

i cleaned it too. I think the reason it did it , is becuase when you shoot the primer i let the first and second coat sit 40 mins like it said to. So that paint eventually sits for 3 hours. And after that inside the gun where you cant see creates buildup. Im not a painter but that is just my guess. That is why i clean the gun immidiatley everytime now between coats.

you ready for the magical moment...? Got the whole bottom done today. went very well this time with a new gun and 1.3mm tip. i dont know why but in my clear I got a ton of particles\lent, but spraying my base I never got one flaw in the finish... maybe clear attracts lent??

anyways here is what she looks like, sorry for the blur, theres clear still floating around in there, and it was kind of dark

im debating weather or not to get a big meatball number like on the cars to put on the hood\hull (in the middle of the hull\hood and will cut the graphic) or a gulf logo. ill do some photoshops and post them up here

You already have the Gulf race theme going.Follow it through! lf you do a decal,at least if you don't like it,you can peal it off.

If you put a number on it be prepared to get asked "how fast does that thing go" on a daily basis.

thats what I was thinking. and also if I raced. I think ill go with the gulf logo so people actually know what it is based after. This thing will for sure be a racer... goin 20mph, but hey thats not why we bought these things. Cheap hulls for tricks!

No pictures tonight fellas, got done pretty late and didnt feel like going back out to take pictures. Its going very well, whole ski is done, just have the hood to do now. I think you guys will like it. I had two places where the orange overspray got through some tape but thank god they are both on the turf line and wont see them. I got some white coveralls from harbor freight which REALLY helped while clear coating. Nothing got on the ski at all.

Turf came in today, Im really on the home stretch now. Need a couple inserts (seeing if sanoman has any) and need to make a lot of trips to lowes to make a homemade limiting rope and hood ratchet.

Ill get some pictures tomorrow. If anyone has a male steering end (thing on the turn plate where the cable attaches) that they have sitting around mind giving to me for shipping money that would be awesome.

Probably got some laying around, man! Need to know what size bolts you plan to use.l can always make you a couple. And l may have the steering parts for ya.Do you need the pivot ball or the piece that slips over it?

Insert size doesnt really matter. Whatever you have, I need new bolts anyways. I need the pivot ball. The part that screws directly onto the steering plate. ( EU0-61461-01-00 STOOD, JOINT BALL )
