im so sick of this build. today I just bought some pool hose for my pole breathers and they dont fit. so thats $10 wasted.

You are not alone dude... Just imagine what the rest of use have been going through. You at least got the hull with all the major issued worked out already.

heres it all said and done. Needs wetsanding\buffing. How do you guys recommend me doing this? Right now im just wetsanding with 1000 then 1500 then 2000. What should i do after that? I dont have a buffer or anything.

after wet sanding, I hand polished and buffed with polishing compound and a rag on my krylon paint job and it came out great. I didn't have a buffer either and I don't think anyone would notice the difference.

did you krylon clear?

ok well I got a few things accomplished today, not really what I wanted but its something. Got a battery from walmart, got those damn tubes "installed" more like hacked in there, those literally took me 3 hours to get settled. got the gas cap\filler on there, pole bracket mounted for the final time, a little tow hook in the front, versiplugs installed.

Im deciding on battery location. It will work in both positions, both will be the same amount of work. I will have to level the area with epoxy\cabosil\glass strands, then actually bond the plate, then lay some glass over it.

#1 battery location is what I really wanted when I built my hull but my Deka battery wouldn't fit. My opinion is, use the one up front. That way if you do decide you need a bigger battery for some reason, it will take minimal modification. On the other hand, if your battery position is in the back by the bulkhead, you limit yourself to a certain size battery but you have more room up front.

Alternately, if you run the battery in the back, you have to run it sideways or you won't be able to run rear exhaust or it may be more difficult to run anyway. The e-box will also be more difficult to get in and out because it'll be sandwiched between the battery, pipe, engine, and bulkhead.

Alright, It will go up front then. Im debating weather to knock out the orange peel on the bottom half of the hull. You dont see it, but im wondering if a smooth bottom\rhino lined type texture (super orange peel :Eyecrazy:) has any effect on anything. Considering I wont be going over 30 mph...

Anyways I have to come up with a battery type "samwich" mounting thing. Probably just go the way most people do it, get some threaded rods, cut them to lenth, and use nuts over a sheet of aluminum cut the right way.

Screw the orange peel on the bottom. The sand and water will "wet sand" that for you in no time. You can always copy my battery box if you don't want to use the stock one and padding around the battery. Again though, if you battery takes a dump and a friend has a spare, you want to be able to use your friends battery to finish out the day. I kinda screwed myself on that one so I'm bound to only my battery or my day is done.

Which Walmart battery did you get? I have been looking at Walmart and I have read here that people use the small ES5LBS AGM battery. I think it is for a small motorcycle or motor scooter but it looks very small to me, then again my 550sx will start after sitting for a week in under 10sec, so it may be OK. Is the one that you are using just a normal 16lb PWC battery?

thanks,

The battery is the smallest one i forget the number but it has 4b in it for 4 lbs. User "DAG" has been running it on his superjet for a while and he says he has no problems, running bilges also.

this is what I decided to do about pissers. Since I couldnt find a 3\8th barb with 1\8th thread ANYWHERE locally I just decided to use these. Cut about half the thread off so it doesnt stick out much, and put the barb in first so the nut is on the outside, They will be secured later with 5200 for security, really they could be held in place by the water line\clamp if I wanted to just do that.

Meanwhile, I lost my midshaft bolts, the specialty nut\bolt place isnt open on sundays so things I can do are limited now.

Well I wanted straight pissers, and I know they are only like $14 from selzer tool, but $28 (for two) is $28. Money is really tight. These will work find until I can get those. Thanks though. Waternut does the same thing except his are mounted from the inside out.

Actually, that brass is soft enough you could do some profiling with a file and make them sleek and low profile, now that's custom.

Ill cut them down more tomorrow. Anyone know what size the midshaft bolts are? they arent on that spreadsheet thing.

Anyways, less talk more pics. Got the battery plate glassed\epoxied. That thing is NOT going anywhere. I could have left it just bonded with the epoxy\cabosil and it probably wouldnt go anywhere. Put 2 layers of 6oz and 2 layers of 17oz. Overkill? Maybe but atleast I know its not going anywhere and wont have to redo it anytime soon.

Im not really sure how much this is going to help but thats a 1\3rd a sheet of foam in there, can get another 3rd on the other side, and hopefully the last 3rd somewhere else. If it even does anything I heard one sheet of foam only floats 166lbs. maybe im just wasting effort.

Thanks for trying to help Brock out!

No problem, I know what's it's like and wish I had more help when i was doing my first build. I couldn't imagine doing a Stunt, they are far more work than I would ever undertake.
