At least shave the threads off the pissers so it's only the hex head. If you could round the hex points off, that'd look even better. I know what you mean about the pissers though. I wanted straight pissers too and I just couldn't convince myself to spend $30 on two water fittings.

I've thought about the polystyrene as well but haven't done it yet. Make sure you put some glass or something to hold the foam in place. Otherwise, it'll float up and find its way all over your engine bay. A full sheet of polystyrene will float about 60-70lbs but you don't need to float the entire weight of the ski or anything close to the entire weight of the ski since everything weighs less once it's submerged. Every little bit helps...

today i mainly just built the stand. Probably the smartest thing ive done, should have done it at the start. My back feels better already from not having to bend over to work on the ski. The stand is at perfect level to my trailer so it just slides off and on. Also shaved the brass fittings

thanks, more work done. Found our gromet tool, and made a "brap strap". Hate to use a black strap, I have a red strap I might try dying yellow to turn orange. Bleaching it didnt work to turn white. Also got someone to help me with the exhaust outlet, that was a pain. Its all rtv'ed so It shouldnt leak.

Water bypass fittings look good now. Good work. I was going to say "pissers look good" but didn't think that would come out right.

Yea,your pissers do look good(don't get any ideas there, either!) l love the kawi outlet. Riveting it was about the only way you could do it.
x3 You are doing great! keep it up,the end is near......

thanks guys, going to get midshaft bolts today (Im pretty sure they are M8) then if I get lucky I will be able to put the engine in today or tomorrow. Need to get fuel lines also. Does anyone have like a diagram for the fuel lines? I have no idea how they work.

What u running for carbs? U running a petcock?
From tank to petcock regular and reserve.
Petcock out to carbs add "T" for duals&split
carbs to tank "T" dual returns into one.
Add inline restrictor to return line on aftermarket carbs.
Add clunks to tank pickups is you have some.

running a single 42 with petcock.

Heres a big fail. I didnt have the b pipe in when I drilled those holes. They are petty close the water lines would be sitting on the b pipe if they just went straight in. I think Im going to have to do a 90 off the pisser so the water line can attach without touching the pipe

I feel your pain on the pisser location. I would've warned you if I thought someone would make the same bonehead mistake as me. Sorry man... Are you sure you can't get a hose on there? Mine were located almost directly into the side of the chamber but yours look higher. You can see that I did the 90° fittings as well.

I also put my carb lay out on there for you (sorry the colors didn't turn out very well). Bottom is supply, top is return, and the one in the middle by itself goes to the pulse fitting on the engine. If you run a fuel selector switch (aka your "pet cock"), there will be two supply lines running from the tank to the selector switch and one coming out of the switch and into the supply fitting on the carb.

Thanks. If I ran a line straight to the pissers I could be ok but im just worried about the chamber melting the hose. The lines would just be resting on the chamber.
I also have another MAJOR delima. Something happened to the inserts I glassed in, the exact bolts that i had threaded in when I bonded the inserts to the hull wont even go in now. Its like the inserts shrunk or something. Im positive they were M8 inserts that came from highroller, I guess I could get a metric tap and dye set, but thats going to set me back.

Sounds like you got some goo that hardened in the threads. You won't need to buy a whole set.Go down to like maybe Ace hardware and just buy what you need.Take the bolt with you.

l have to say you forgot to use the golden rule on the pisser location "think five steps ahead" ! Now get back to work!

I used a strip of hydroturf and glued it to the topside of my chamber to keep h2o lines from resting directly on the chamber and melting them. I think I glued it with a high temp silicone type adhesive. I had white turf at the time. Find someone on here to cut you a square and put it in an envelope. Might cost you $5 at worst and wouldn't cause another headache. My turf stayed white too.

Yeah it's really easy to get epoxy in the threads when glassing them in. Run the proper size drill bit in the middle...carefully so you don't go into the hull and then insert the tap to clean the threads out.

I think you'll be fine with having the cooling lines resting on the chamber in terms of heat. The only problem I see is that the lines will chafe on the chamber and cause the paint to wear off and the hoses will slowly grind down and need replacing. The turf idea from pablo is a good idea if you have the clearance.

I have clearance Ill do that. Ive tried ace and lowes, and they dont sell metric individual taps. Ill just get a whole set from harbor freight, they can always come in handy. I didnt think id get any goo in the threads because i had the bolt in the insert when I glued it down.
Anyways, more progress tonight, motor\pump goes in tomorrow, if Im up for it the pole will go on too, Ive been working literally all day. Tank is fully in (minus those two inserts) filler on, waterbox behind the tank, exhaust tube all ready for the engine. *SIDE NOTE* fuel line from your local auto store is very thick I think the OD is about 1\2 inch, which made getting them on the pickup hard and hard to bend.

Just in case we never mentioned it before. You have to put the pipe chamber in the hull BEFORE you put the engine in...but put it in after you do the alignment check so it's not in the way.

After the waterbox, the temp is quite low even if you run your waterbox really dry. PVC is rated to 140° and I've been running that in 95° water without a single problem.
