For anyone wondering the TR-1 in the Yamaha EX (Spark competitor ski) is 102-horsepower.

Worse case they do what kawa did and slap a different top deck and pole on top of the Yamaha EX couch.

I tried to find a reason to buy a Kawi when they came out. I didn't care about looks, I cared about weight and size. I could not get over the fact my Spark was 150lbs lighter than a standup. No Thanks

Can you? My Spark would jump higher which is why I bought it, I wanted a modern SPX (this was 2014). I sold my Spark for a Gen 2 X2. At the time, I had a Superjet, HX, SPX and a Spark. I rode 3 times a week and wanted completely different platforms to ride. I came very close to buying a mint 2004 SXR800 but I found the X2. Sorry for making fun of your SXR.

I don’t own an SXR. I was just messing with you. I guess I should have used a smilie. :) Thankfully you don’t sound like the stereotypical Spark owner.

Any updates here?

Sure, why not. Due to the COVID-19 situation, Yamaha said they were 99% done with a new SJ 4 stroke that was actually LIGHTER than the current generation but they had to scrap the project, destroy any and all documents pertaining to it and executed every engineer involved so it will never see the light of day.

Oh, didn't you hear about a new Yamaha-Tesla collaboration ? 1200 lbs at the nozzle, four hour ride time, certified for Lake Tahoe and all areas including the whole CA coastline and the Outer Banks. Carbon Fiber body, titanium fittings, and military tech pump with variable vanes. Coming this summer.

^ You forgot to post those on April 1st.

I think as soon as there is a legit update, it's going to make it into this thread.

No, I'm just too busy trying to get this pump fiberglassed into my 96 RN.

ok, that's actually a Russian Submarine....which is why I got the parts cheap on ebay
