DIY Total loss or MSD TL upgrade box 270USD?

Well dang I just got my zeeltronic setup in the mail this week. Oh well I’ll get another one if it’s that much better! Can’t beat the price!!

Its not really making a huge difference to the operation. I'm about to by 2 more but I have no issue with the original one.
But yeah youre right on the price. I reckon you cant get better value for money. I'm building an x2 and it will run the same system

OK so hooked my zeeltronic up this afternoon and not getting spark, downloaded the wiring diagram figuring its not quite as plug and play as i anticipated. Looks like the coil grounds off to the stud instead of its own wire like a 62t setup? Also not sure i have the rest wired up right. starter fires off fine but no spark, not sure cdi is getting power. Here are some pictures of ebox and various wires in question. Any help would be appreciated, can PM if you want to avoid taking this thread off track, although wouldn't be a bad place for wiring setup info for those about to install this setup.IMG-0039.JPGIMG-0038.JPGIMG-0037.JPG

I can see the issue straight away, There is a red wire of the zeeltronic that needs 12 volts on it. Its the female red wire. Most people just hook it straight to a 12 volt feed with no switch

Thanks Wax, i guess i didnt explain too well. I did have that hooked up straight to CDI, one thing i did have wrong is white wire that was supposed to go to start stop i had going to black on coil. But not sure where the red wire coming off of fuse should tie in. Powers the unit with green wires going to stator.

All you should have to do is plug it in and hook a power wire to it. Of course because you are using a 62t setup you will have to put the coil earth to the box as they are done on the 760 and it should fire straight up

Awesome man Thank You!

So black coil wire to ground stud

White from start/stop to white off main plug

Pink is open (I believe this was brown/white on other side of plug, dark now so can't get more pictures tonight)

The fuse is spliced off the power wire, do I not plug that into the unit with the green wires? (not sure what name is)

that's the rectifier, with the green wires, Its your charging system it will run with this unit not in there but the battery will go flat.
You have to have it plugged in if you want to charge.
Pink Is the over heat system so leave it open.
Yes earth out the coil black wire.
Then fire it up, your neighbours expect it

Perfect, running system as total loss so ill just leave the rectifier out of the loop, wont hurt anything to keep the green wires plugged in if unit doesn't have power right? Otherwise I can terminate them.

No it will be fine. But your getting no advantage over having t charging as your still swinging the weight. If you pull the magnets out then you get the advantage of having light weight as well. I would hook up the charging to start with and see how you go

I had a flywheel setup by Speedy already. Lightened almost 2lbs, 3rd bump ground off and balanced, and magnets taken out.

Nice, yes take the rectifier out or leave it in there. If its all there then its a flywheel change away from being charging again if needed

it is, you plug it in and put a power wire to it, what's hard about that. Its because it was being fitted to a 62t based system that it was causing him some confusion. But even it wasn't can you think of a better kit for the price ?
