DIY Total loss or MSD TL upgrade box 270USD?

I’ve run wax’s curve on my et967 with pump gas- big difference over an enhancer. Now I made a more aggressive curve and run race gas domes.

Did you have to do any jetting corrections? Looking to do a safe curve and stay on pump gas as I ride 200 or so gallons a season.

If i was to make it more aggressive i would bring the advance in sooner and run up to 34 degrees up top.
Okay thank you. And if I wanted to mellow it out a bit for initial testing I could do let’s say 30 @ 3k and pull to 28 @ 4.5k just to be safe, And what about dropping to 16 @ 6k?

on road going two stroke say a kart or mx bike I would pull down that low up top, I have never found it to be worth while on a jetski, I used to go back that far now I don't they pull harder of you don't. I cant see the point of going any milder than the curve I have written but sure you could you will just lose torque and the engine will not hit as hard

Thank you! The only idea I had behind pulling it back like that was to give it a shake down run and confirm jetting and everything was in the ballpark as I have been fighting a couple issues. But I am going to confirm it runs on an enhancer before switching over.

For what it's worth, I did exactly what you're describing with a milder curve in the zeeltronic on my first shakedown on my ski.

Something to consider, at around 5000+ rpm's the wax curve actually has less advance than an enhancer, so for a "mild shakedown" you might be better off with a mild curve in the Zeeltronic then reprogram later.

So a little update. Ive just shipped a MSD pickup plate with 2 MSD TL pickups. 2 MSD TL coils, to Borut @ ZEELTRONIC.
Borut will messaaure and test if these components will work with his box, so we easily can adapt the ZEELTRONIC box to a MSD TL setup.
If not, the solution will be a Hall sensor ZEELTRONIC box. Either way - we will soon test a ZEELTRONIC setup and post the results.
Im also talking with Borut about the possiblity about making/adapting a ZEELTRONIC box to a OEM superjet 62t ignition setup. That way, you could get a way better solution than MSD enhancer.
Stay tuned and watch this space :)

just that 90% of people riding superjet, is using the ignition system the superjet was born with.
Let me just state this again, im not in this to make money. If we get this system to work, people would buy directly from ZEELTRONIC. The idea is to make people get a nice jetski upgrade product, without the normal expensive "jetski price tag" :)

Im with you on that one. Its an open source ignition that no one can charge huge amounts for.

I'm having trouble following this thread. There is a working kit for a total loss system and you're working through adapting one to an ignition system that still has charging capabilities similar to a stock setup + msd enhancer?

The topic says MSD TL upgrade box :)
So the 2 options im looking at is:
1. a ZEELTRONIC box to directly replace the MSD digital multi channel brain ( use your MSD pickups, pickup plate, flywheel and ignition coils)
2. a ZEELTRONIC box that will work with 62t (maybe also 61x) superjet OEM ignition (with pulse coil inside flywheel) Making a charging programable CDI (also possible to change to total loss)

@waxhead discovered this with a ZEELTRONIC box to work like option 2, with the 760 ignition setup.

But yes. there is a complete system from CPI, that uses a ZEELTRONIC box, but the pricetag is still 1600usd for complete system - wich i think is a alot, considering the heart of the igniiotn (ZEELTRONIC box) cost 230 euro directly from ZEELTRONIC.

To clarify a little, the Yamaha 760 uses a different type of electrical system than the 701 that comes in a superjet, but the parts from a 760 bolt right up to the 701.

If you use the 760 electrical system including the flywheel and mag cover (the 760 effectively has the "stator" with the coils and sensors and such built into the mag cover) then there is a zeeltronic that is basically plug and play. Very easy setup, costs about the same as an enhancer, fully programmable, fits in the stock ebox.

Because the 64x system uses a position sensor that works independently of the magnets in the flywheel, and the cdi is powered by the battery you can choose to leave the charging system intact or you can remove the magnets for a much lighter flywheel and run it as a total loss. The zeeltronic works either way.

But it's not compatible with the 62t electrical system that comes stock on a superjet.

So it's not really a "kit" it's just a cdi box that currently works with the 760 electronics, he's looking at trying to make it work with 701 electronics and also msd flywheel/sensors
