DIY Total loss or MSD TL upgrade box 270USD?

To clarify a little, the Yamaha 760 uses a different type of electrical system than the 701 that comes in a superjet, but the parts from a 760 bolt right up to the 701.

If you use the 760 electrical system including the flywheel and mag cover (the 760 effectively has the "stator" with the coils and sensors and such built into the mag cover) then there is a zeeltronic that is basically plug and play. Very easy setup, costs about the same as an enhancer, fully programmable, fits in the stock ebox.

Because the 64x system uses a position sensor that works independently of the magnets in the flywheel, and the cdi is powered by the battery you can choose to leave the charging system intact or you can remove the magnets for a much lighter flywheel and run it as a total loss. The zeeltronic works either way.

But it's not compatible with the 62t electrical system that comes stock on a superjet.

Yes, what i talked with Borut about is, if its possible to get a ZEELTRONIC box to work directly in a 62t ignition setup (lost spark, with pulsecoil "inside Flywheel")
First priority is still the 2 pickup TL setup :)

Im having 2 buddys on board this project also, @stefan and another guy. They will most likely also test the ZT box :)

Basicly what we want to figure out, is can the "normal" ZT box use the msd pickups or will we need to adapt hall sensors.

News in from zeeltronic

we are Just finishing new PDCIS-02T for GP760. It will have latched stop switch and automatic power down. CDI will draw only 0.5mA in power down, that means it does not need to be switched off any more...it will need few years to drain 19Ah battery.
Price is 175 euro which is about 198 usa dollars. Plugs into the stock 760 plug

What is the feature set compared to the other models you have been using so far? Single channel? Power jet circuits for ecwi? What is the latched stop switch?

This is awesome that zeeltronics is working with the jet ski community.

My guess with the latched stop switch is that you just click the stop button and it shuts off like the OEM CDI. The current Zeeltronic requires you to hold the stop button till the engine stops rotating.

A small update, Borut received our package with MSD TL pickups and coils today. Yesterday i did some more research and might have found the answer to what type of pickup the MSD TL pickup is.
I found a Trouble shooting page for MSD tech site, which had a how to, to test a MSD car box with a magnetic pickup. They do it be shortening the trigger signal to the ignition box (just like you do on the MSD TL brain)
Next giveaway is a old catalog i found, were the MSD TL pickup is described as hand made, and "windings are epoxied in"
So i think and hope that Borut find them to be magnetic pickups, that works with the "normal" ZEELTRONIC box and be a direct swap for the MSD brain. :)

Wow! who is running a 19ah battery?! (that is 2.5x bigger then a ETX9)
The point is now the need to have a power on off switch is gone. So it will turn off like a normal ignition and run with out every having to worry about the battery gong flat if your not using it

I got my zeeltronic 6 months ago or so, I never unhook my battery and it doesn’t seem to die at least as far as I can tell. I always just assumed the auto power down was always there. I’ve had stock ignition, then ran an enhancer, but this is by far the best setup!
