Both Zeel versions pull a portion of there energy off the charging side of the circuitry when run as TL, its only as good as the battery powering it. And looses energy, the longer its run. Not the case with charging. I proved it on my personal boat some time ago while running the A02T on TL. Went to go on a surf trip and just changed to a lightened charging flywheel. Lost my tune? Was lean. Swapped back to TL flywheel, all was good. Went back to charging, and rejetted. Ran much better than with the TL! Of course, I could tell the difference in Flywheel weight, but that was it.
this past Daytona, I delivered a new TPE 1105 build to a client. It ran a Y62T with Jetinetics flywheel. Boat is extremely Flatwater capable! Have setup several others now the same. All Run very good! Please know, this is Not yet a replacement for MSD TL. However, getting closer all the time. Im learning and getting better with my tunes.
this is where Im finding big gains

Love this. I saw that mark swapped both his boats to zeel. I haven’t seen any ride time yet but curious of the review. Paul you know your poop, love that. It’s just a big learning curve going from msd tl to zeel tl

All the surf photos of Mark in Daytona are on the Zeel Y62T. His Flatwater boat is still on MSD TL

I’m having a issue with my msd tl. Lost fire again May be last straw. Other than lighter fw what advantage does msd tl still hold on the new zeel ?

Is anyone going to make a billet 760 total loss flywheel? and if not what's the lightest any one has been able to go with a 760 flywheel?

I'm having some spark issues after re-doing wiring on my 760 Zeel setup in my 1107.

The motor cranks without issues.
I can see spark when I test it using the software "test" button
I can see spark if I crank it with the programmer plugged in via USB to my laptop...
But if I unplug the laptop from the Zeel system, I have no spark when cranking. Any ideas? o_O

i'd just make sure you have 12v to the zeel. Seems like you may not.

Confirmed with my volt meter that I'm getting power to the Zeel. For giggles I disconnected the fuse leading to the zeel power and tried to "test" spark through the software. It wont fire when there's no power to the zeel.

I’d be checking your coil then. When you test it and see spark, are you visually seeing spark? Or are is it showing spark on the computer?

I just had this same issue when getting my ski out of storage, no spark, but works as soon as it’s plugged in to the laptop usb cable. Test spark works, and reading rpm when cranking on laptop, everything else tested and checked out good, so I replaced the zeel and it works properly again. A02t zeel bought around sept 2020. I was able to pull the case off the bad Cdi and it has either an air bubble or burned spot in the potting.

Crap, that's the worst news I've heard this year :( This is exactly what I'm seeing. The RPM's read when I crank, the test spark fires loud and bright. Darnit I really didn't want to have to purchase a whole new zeel unit.

Definitely sounds like it could be the same problem, I too was hoping it would be something else, 1.5years life is not ideal. I’m assuming it’s just a fluke issue / bad batch being it doesn’t sound like many fail. Do you know how old yours is?

I purchased mine less than 2 years ago as well.
