News in from zeeltronic

we are Just finishing new PDCIS-02T for GP760. It will have latched stop switch and automatic power down. CDI will draw only 0.5mA in power down, that means it does not need to be switched off any more...it will need few years to drain 19Ah battery.
Price is 175 euro which is about 198 usa dollars. Plugs into the stock 760 plug
Would I be able to run my 62t stator flywheel with a zeeltronic pdcis-ao2t

Has anyone used these on a php898 engine? My msd tl brain died. I purchased the A02T, I’m wondering about curves. And how’s it compared to a tl set up. My plan is to find another flywheel and run it tl and lightened, and another just lightened.

I'm running one on a php898. I used the curve that was recommended to me by Zach, last I knew he is selling zeeltronic, hit him up.

I’ve messaged him, he’s got so much going on and almost impossible to get a hold of now.

What’s your set up?

Just run the exact curve you had on the MSD. It will perform exactly the same. Make sure total timing is in by 1500-1800 rpm. If you aren’t sure what’s on the MSD you will have to measure your static timing and then check your dip switches against the MSD manual. Happy to help if you aren’t sure how to do that.

I appreciate it. I’ll shoot you a message when I get to that point. Zeel showed up today. Been waiting 2 months for this bad boy

So I randomly loss spark on my 760 that has a zealtronic cdi....ski has been sitting for a month due to winter season, and I go and start it up from time to time. Started before I put it away and now it has no spark. Any way of testing it? Or suggestions.

Don’t forget to check your grounds. Water and electrical don’t mesh well. I’m going to assume you have some corrosion somewhere causing it not to get either power or ground

But as stated above. Battery and fuses as well.

Are you the same person I am talking to in face book

One thing to note about these Battery-Powered CDIs, is that the Battery must supply enough Voltage for BOTH the DC-CDI AND STARTER at the SAME TIME during starting attempts.

So 9 Volts minimum required for the Zeeltronic CDI doesn't always mean that a Battery at 9 Volts can start the Engine. The Starter draws a lot of Current and Voltage at Start-Up.

Too weak a Battery and the Starter will not move the Pistons fast enough to create enough Compression to support Combustion even with a Spark present.

An even weaker Battery won't even provide enough Voltage to produce a Spark.

Don't buy cheap Batteries and keep the Battery charged.

Most Batteries under $100 bucks generally are not up to the Task.

Already went thru this Scenario. My spare 760 Engine with A02T Zeel would start every couple of weeks off the same Battery until it didn't. Noticed the Cranking Speed was a bit lazy. Sprayed Starting Fluid inside the Cylinder thru the Spark Plug Hole and nothing, not even a cough or a chug. But the Starter would engage and spin the Crank.

Put the Battery Charger on the Battery with a 2 Amp trickle charge and right away hit the Start Button and voila, the Engine started right away. Revved nice and crisp.

So, in my case, the Battery was too weak to provide enough juice to start the Engine.

Good point about the battery importance, but it is just one piece in the system, the power and ground cables as well as all connections to them and to cases need to be on point also. High resistance connections, corrosion, internal cable breakdown, etc. can create high resistance and cause voltage drops when starting. Starter relay/solenoids over time can have high internal resistance from arcing and be an issue as well.

It's strange because my experience is that it's kind of amazing that the thing will start with such a sketchy battery. I've had several times where it went "ruh.......ruh...ruh ruh ping da ding ding ding" and I completely did not expect it to start when it could barely turn over. I would have said if you have enough juice to turn the motor over at all the zeel will fire based on what I've seen.

I'm not so sure you need 9 volts to get spark, I think that is the minimum voltage for full spark energy, and even then it seems like it would depend on rpm (capacitor has to charge faster to have full spark energy at higher rpm). I have never made an attempt to see how low the voltage can go and still get spark though.

On the flip side, it does seem like the zeel has more parasitic loss than a stock ignition and sitting long periods will drain the battery, (thus why I have been in situations to try to start with a low battery), even the 02t which was supposed to have less drain than the 01t. I have never used the A02t so can't comment on that.
