I agree 10000% with you. And you are from FL, where you have FREEDOM. So you would not understand what its like to live in communism. But you have to remember you are talking about NJ. We have the WORST, MOST RESTICTIVE gun laws in the USA. If you want to get a gun..... it takes MONTHS and then more months. Gun shows are illegal here, CCW is illegal here. If you are cought with a handgun not on your home, range, or business its 7 YEARS MANDATORY MINIMUM in PRISON, no parole eligibility. Hollow points outside of your home?....18months per BULLET! State of emergency = no gun or ammo sales. Needless to say looters dont have alot to fear.
I think this event will make ALOT of NJ anti's reevaluate.

I guess that explains a little why there are such POS out there scooping out places knowning that the guns laws are so strict that there is not many who have. Like in some states everyone is packing.... How is it going Shawn? I have been a post whore of late... slow at work... LOL!!

Actually back at my condo....being I am the 2nd floor we survived with no damage. But every downstairs unit in the complex is full of sand. The entire town is a waste land. Military checkpoints setup, 7pm curfew, helicopters contantly going over, red cross and FEMA are setup few streets over. Only 10 or so other people here. Very quiet. I am pumping out my buildings crawl space with a pool cover pump and my generator. Thats about it.

shawn I knew you guys had strict laws but WTF! thats rediculous....
here in florida you go to a gun show and if buying new, you need to fill out paperwork and do a backround check but thats it...
if you find something used....more often than not you put down your cash, pick up the gun say thank you and thats it....some guys MIGHT check to see if you have a FL driver license...

In WI if you want your conceal and carry permit you just have to mail in proof that you took hunters safety. Week later, you get your permit!
Even if it is a lot of work to get a gun in NJ, I would do it. You don't need a handgun or a fancy semi auto rifle...just get good 'ol Remington 870 shotgun.

Not much else to do but watch gas in the generator. And cook outside on a propane camp stove. Its like the Walking Dead. BUT I HAVE CELL INTERNET! I'll take that over hot water right now.

Man a lot of people got it real bad. The worst I had was 2ft in my garage I got really lucky I'm on the water and only a few things got ruined. Nobody thought this storm was going to be this bad. I had to put my corvette on cinderblocks while the water was rising in my garage I ended up saving the car but destroying the side skirts with the blocks.

It's easier to get a gun off the streets of Newark than to do a legal route. Not saying anyone should do that. I'm happy I got two dogs that sound mean and a good wet baseball bat. I was a little worried to see two gas stations run out of fuel today. Wawas seem to be holding up but lines. Got my bronco going. After being submerged to the windows. New coil and ignition module and she runs.

BREAKING NEWS: Gov. Christie has ordered odd-even gas purchasing in 12 NJ counties to ease gas station lines. Starting on Saturday at noon, residents with license plates ending in an even number will be able to buy gas on even-numbered days and residents with plates ending in an odd number can make gas purchases on odd-numbered days. Vanity plates are considered odd numbered.
On another note. I just walked out on my deck, this is probably as close to the zombie apocalypse as you can get. Not one other person, car, sound, or even light visable in any direction.

Pretty much all gas stations by me are out of fuel,(except for diesel, thank god) i have been running on a generator since monday,they say it could be up to another week until its restored here.. i have about a days supply of gas left for generator, gunna do some carb mods to it tomorow and run it on natural gas for the duration of power outage.. completed the first stage tonight..

Nice "build" for the natural conversion. I have a yamaha 2400 inverter gen that goes 10hours on a little over a gallon, and 20 gallons on hand. So I am good for awhile, but its not whole house power by any means. Keeps the fridge cold, some lights with CFL bulbs, and phone / laptop. Also I can run either a microwave or coffee maker with fridge still plugged in, but the gen is WTFO at that point. Right now I also have it powering a pool cover pump, slowly pumping out the foot of water in the crawl space.
