Get the easy start capacitors for your campers AC. It should run it no prob if you put them on. It would not run my friends camper ac, until he put the capacitors on the AC....then it ran it and this was @ 95F+ degrees outside. Initial startup surge it needs the better caps, once it starts the gen idles down some.

I am also getting the PROPANE / NAT GAS conversion kit for it. After these horrific gas lines, I am making sure I dont have to deal with that ever again. Also buying (5) 40lb propane tanks to have for emergency cooking, heat, and gen power.

Thanks man! That's a lot cheaper than a new generator for sure. I'm going to try it out.

One thing to note. We are at sealevel (obviously why this thread was started to begin with...lol). If you are trying to get the 2400 to run your ac at high elevation the caps might not be enough. But will still make starting the ac alot easier on the gen, even if you have to trade up to a 3000.

Went to a station today. Verizon trucks with generators On them and 4-7 Verizon workers in charge of the Machinery standing around in front of it with the police.

They had a line of cars that were Verizon workers and cops who jumped the line then they let a few people gas up. Shortly after the cops came out and locked the pumps and shut the power back down.

I guess they are saving the fuel in the tanks for emergency vehicles and power service vehicles. Supposedly most of the out of state workers here to help have their own vehicles and aren't driving around in power company trucks. I helped push some guys car up the line cause he ran out of gas. Looked like he had everything he owned in the backseat.

They are saying no power from my parents house--->south until thanksgiving or later. Many houses are condemned already and will be knocked down. I just hope they can rebuild back to what it was and it doesn't turn to poop here.

Went and donated a bunch of food/toiletries/warm jackets to the Red Cross earlier today too. Hopefully people are staying warm tonight.

Got my generator up and running on natural gas today, would have been nice to have a conversion kit fron us carb, or even just the on demand nat.gas regulator. it took some time to get it to run without surging, playing with diffrent size/length/taper of my half ass feed tube setup into the intake, a/f is adjusted by a simple needle valve..far from perfect, but works pretty well considering, been running for over 8hrs now with the fuel petcock in the off postition.i can shut the nat gas and open gasoline valve and have it running back on that in seconds. hopefully they can get power restored asap for all of us that dont have any.

That's some smart thinking there. Hope you guys get some fuel and power soon up there. I still have none but gas has been flowing pretty good today. I looked out towards lbi tonight so weird to only see a few house lights at the north end then just black until the bridge.

Hope they rebuild faster than here. 18 months later and very little rebuilt yet.

you can see the brown streak. that was the tornado path. The City here has put so many restrictions on "How they want you to rebuild".

Ugh. I hope for the people living in those areas sake that they all rebuild. If its ends up like that it will be bad. I hope the insurance companies and FEMA pull through.

Yep the red cross has been in almost every beach town in jersey giving out hot meals, food, water, mres, flashlights, and lots of other stuff. I went to the truck to see if they had a extra lighter, and they would let me leave without taking dinners and mre's. Really good people who would give you the shirt off there backs. I donated to them as soon as I got home.

we still have 20 or so boats to haul but with no lift its going to b fun. but its not as bad as some people got it.

we will just keep on keeping on.

Sorry to hear. The devastation is even worse when you aren't even able to make a living.

Yeah it's hard. We have to start over pretty. Much but I am thankfull for what we have.my house and fam are ok and that's all that really matters. We are not as bad off as some. We are in island park and the next town over is long beach and they are in trouble over there. Lets face it boats and skis are not needed. A roof over your head heat and hot water are.so every time I start to say I had enough I just look across the bay.

I just passed a caravan of utility trucks headed east on rt78 in PA. Saw more generators on flatbeds as well. It is nice to see more reinforcements heading your way.
