Little bit of a dillema. There was a miscommunication somewhere and I ended up with a throttle lever with 8mm threads instead of the 10mm threads jetmaniacs big bore cable is. So, does anyone have an Sxr throttle cable? I don't wanna drill and tap if I don't have to. I have a brand new jetmaniac big bore cable I can trade.

If someone doesn't have one they'll trade I guess I'll have to do that. Hopefully it's a tap I actually have.. I suppose a drill press would definitely be preferred than a hand held?

You could put it in a vice. Alum is soft, you could hand drill it with ease then tap.

X2 on hand tapping. The drill and tap combo will only be like 10 or 20 bucks at the hardware store

Have a crap ton of drill bits and two full tap sets from between our shop and warehouse. Should be able to find something to work!

Throttle lever drilled & tapped, also sealed up stator cover tonight. My ETX9, aluminum tube, and silicone couplers all showed up too. I literally have everything I need besides a fitting for my kart tank, which I could jimmy rig if I wanted to ride. I might be able to have it on the water Sunday evening, but more realistically I'll probably be riding tuesday or wednesday. I'm stoked!

With this hull having an open bulkhead and versiplugs, I'm going to stuff the tray and engine bay with as many pool noodles as possible(not using pole breathers so probably in the rrp pole tubes too), run a retriever with 100 feet of rope, and also a bilge pump. The hull won't take on much water with the hood design, but I do want to take precautions. The bilge pump is pretty much just for added insurance incase my hull leaks a little bit somewhere.

Your better off with the 10mm cable. The sxr cable is stupid i dont understand why kawi changes things that work fine. Most throttles are 10mm and a 8mm adapter in a 10mm hole is stupid. It sucks to drill and tap that but you have a better cable in the long run.
