Probably because that motor looks like it could use a thorough cleaning, what is all that schmang on your flywheel cover, get yourself an o-ring cover and you'll never have to worry about water getting in
Some Simple Green and a Daytona Speed Brush.....it takes minutes to clean stuff.

My oringed billet cover leaked too. Now I run the gasket on it too with grease on both sides and it's good now. Might try that.
