You gotta be very careful with that because if they cut your hoses its a royal pain to put new tubes in the pole. Already been there.

I kinda wondered about that...
I know that if it doesn't work out, I'll modify the nosepiece (and make it look more like an SR-71 nosepiece) then run the bolts nuts out. I'll be keeping my eye on the hoses though.

Now, because I moved the pivot bracket as far forward as possible, I had to cut 2" out of my nosepiece.

I was talking to Steve (WCF) the other day about moving my bracket farther forward. I'll be looking forward to checking yours out to help determine how far I can plan on moving mine forward.

I know you said you had to cut the nosepiece about 2", but how far forward were you able to actually move the bracket itself? Same 2" or less as I presume?!? :dunno:

Handlepole stop pad is complete.

It gave me 1 fingers worth of clearance on the trim lever, and 2 fingers on the throttle. Plus, it doesn't look as bad as I thought it would.

Huge thanks to Abe at NorthGraphics for letting me borrow a chinpad for the trip!!!

If you do any hood tricks, 50/50's etc, that pad will compress some, so I would re-think the '1 finger is enough' therory....

I would hate to see the trim lever mess up the hood.

Lookjs good tho...

I know.
I talked to MarshJ about it, and he is running something similar, except it doesn't have the turf on the side. I checked all my clearances while sitting on the chinpad, and it didn't compress that much (1/4" maximum).

I've got nothin' but time my man!

By the way, this boat is going down to Daytona as a motorless object.
I may or may not have a motor go in it, but I am planning on NOT riding it. :-(

I got ya..... so we are auctioning it off... awesome. Thanks for all your hard work, the Jr. Lifeguards will be so happy

Is it because of the huge air intakes or because of the xtremely short handlepole or both?

It's a little bit of both.
I actually had less clearance with my old hood. That hood was Chris Maros' 1st production hood, and was shaped similarly to the early Wammer hoods. My pole pad on the old hood was 3 layers of turf, so it didn't compress as much. The fact that the pivot bracket is another 1" forward only adds to the complication.

If you look at the side shot, you can see that the bars are only about 1" behind the bulkhead.

Well, the pole is -4, the bracket is -1 by design, and is -1 in mounting, and the turnplate/straight bars are -3.5". So compared to a stocker, I'm -9.5"

But, with the -2" hull, it's really like I'm -7.5", right? LOL!

that was geektacular
