Great explanation, see video below.

There is an all out war on your Gun Rights! It's extremely important that you see this video and take action. Dianne Feinstein's Bill and the other Liberal Gun Grabbers are doing their very best to completely un-arm all good citizens. Semi-auto rifles, shotguns and magazine fed handguns will be targeted, whether they are used for sport, hunting or home protection. This video is very informational. Please circulate this! Thanks.

Killed some time at my gunstore this morning waiting on a lane to open up and they had less than 10 handguns left in stock. Even their used section was thinned right out. They normally carry a couple hundred handguns.

Looking for a used Ruger LC9, Taurus 709 or similar little 9mm pocketgun for CCW.

I got my new Ruger SuperBlackHawk Hunter for Christmas, installed a new Burris 2x7, 32mm scope, installed Hogue monogrip (rubber impact), and now 44mag ammo is REAL hard to find in Alabama. About the only thing available around here is the extreme high end deer grenade loads that hurt like hell to shoot. LOL (hurts wrist and wallet)

I was at a gun store today also. It was packed and selection was slim. I picked up ruger lcp .380 for ccw. Now just 48hrs to wait.

Does anyone here reload any 44mag stuff? Be willing to do it for $? I want to get into reloading, but I'm scared to invest that kind of money all to find I suck at it or hate it.

There's a nice dillon progressive setup close to me that is tooled up for 44Mag. The guy wants $275 for it. Pretty good little setup and that's a fairly decent price for it. I'd go pick it up and ship it to you if you wanna make a deal on it.

That sounds like a smokin deal !!! Iv'e been looking at Hornady's stuff and it gets real expensive real fast! Don't doubt it's great, but can't see dropping a grand to load stuff for me and my dad.

I've been running the numbers trying to justify it myself. It doesn't add up for 9mm but it does very quickly for some other calibers like 44Mag and .45Auto.

1000 115g bullets $85
1000 centerfire primers $26
1lb of gunpowder $29
1000 9mm brass $free
That's $140 for 1000 rounds.

The Dillon Progressive 550B is an all in one so there shouldn't be $1000 in equipment. $275 for the press and then another $45 for a media tumbler. If you wanted to reload other calibers, you can purchase new dies for between $30-$75 per set.

It mostly depends on what and how much you shoot, what you can buy ammo for and how much free time you have. I'm burning thru my ammo stash pretty quick and not finding any inventory to stock back up so I may end up reloading just so I become self sufficient. I also have the thought that it will allow me to continue shooting cheap if I ever do move back to Canada. Handguns are tricky to own in Canada and the ammo cost is ridiculous if you can even find it.

I am in NO way trying to be a smart azz, do you not think all this guns and ammo BS will blow over about as fast as it blew up? 1 month ago 99.9 % of the country had no clue what a AR15 was and now they all ran out and bought one and 500-1000 rds ammo for it. My thoughts are that in 90 days all the ammo mfr will catch back up with the demand-90% of the world will forget about guns and ammo, and all will be well again.

PLEASE keep in mind-the only semi-auto thing I have is a 10/22. I could care less about tactical type weapons for my self. Give me revolvers and bolt action rifles all day long.
I'm assuming if the govt goes apechit on guns, it would lean towards the tactical side.

I hope you're right Gil and I am factoring that into my decisions.

Believe me, I may be real wrong when its all said and done, but look a Harleys, Mini Coopers, on and on and on-oh wait, remember the new millenium scare? No water or generators to be found anywhere for weeks on end, 01/02/2000 there were generators for sale everywhere for 50 cents on the dollar that had never been gassed up!!!

Obviously all my thoughts could go to hell in a handbag if Washington does go nuts. My only thoughts are that IF Washington were to try to go nuts now-they would piss off 90% of the country where as had they gone nuts 1 month ago-on 10% would be pissed off.

Only time will tell.

ps-I lied about my wants as far as guns go-I do want a Ruger 1911 in .45ACP and a Barret .50 cal pretty darn bad. LOL Good news is, I dam sure can't afford the Barret and the Ruger 1911 is real hard to come by at the moment. LOL

You are correct and historically there is a huge opportunity a few months down the road for some great deals. (Ask me sometime how much I paid for a pair of Honda 3500 Watt Gens in March of 2000, )

Glad to see someone else sharing my love for Ruger. I look at everything but I am strangely drawn back to Ruger products. The .45 1911 is pretty high on my list as well. Don't see that happening anytime soon though.

^^^ Yessss that's a freakin awesome gun!

And one of the only guns left in my local shop. It is a .45 Colt 1911 Gold Cup series with big thick grips, gold plating and a couple other custom additions to bloat the price tag up to the $2700 mark. It was even marked, "DO NOT HANDLE" so I guess it's something pretty special.

Check out Buffalo Bore ammo sometime, specifically 44mag loads, they have a 320 grain load that they say DO NOT PUT INTO ANY S&W REVOLVER-the gun WILL BLOW UP, the box also says to ONLY use in Ruger SRH and SBH and Vaquero revolvers and 1 model of a Dan Wesson. To me, that speaks volumes about the quality of Ruger guns.
I feel like a dirty little whore when carrying my new long gun tho-it's a Savage 6.5 creedmore. Got to say that I be loving that new Savage bolt action with the Hogue stock.
It's a really nice rifle with alot of great features that help to correct my short comings when shooting. NO recoil, set trigger, heavy as hell, and great scope mount setup.

What does the Ruger 1911 go for in your neck of the woods? 700.00 seems to be the magic number here WHEN you can find one.
