Awesome mark!

Wanderer, based on you comments and other things I've read, I picked up a Tangfolio Witness in 9mm today. I guess its a CZ75 clone, but the CZ75s that I saw at the gun show didn't impress me much. Anyway, this is a polymer frame, full size with a accy rail. I couldn't pass it up at $300. My first DA/SA Gonna shoot it Monday.

The EEA/Tangfolio Witness are pretty decent replicas with the Sphinx being way high end. The CZ75 is the most copied handgun in the world. Would've thought the 1911 but its not. Not sure how/what you weren't happy about the CZ's (as with the STI lineup) but to each his own. I prefer the P-01's myself. It did very well in NATO testing and most people that try one buy one. Hope ya like the TZ and have fun. Edit: Team CZ has been very successful in competition with the SP-01 which is the full size version of the compact P-01. Both retain the original CZ75 grip/ergonomics. STI is also consistently a top finisher in competition.

Well I have a new mission. No longer looking for a Beretta 92FS INOX since I discovered the Beretta Brigadier Elite II. it comes in 9mm or .40 S&W. Leaning heavily towards the .40 S&W but realistically if I do manage to find one of these for sale, I'll jump on either in a heartbeat.

OCD You are going to have one hell of a collection soon!

At some point I am going to have to start selling old ones to buy the new ones so it probably won't end up being too much of a collection. All I am really looking for now is a good range accurate target gun and the elite series comes with a ton of trigger work as it was designed for competition so it's a great fit. Might have to sell the Ruger SR9c and 92FS to make it happen though. The 92FS was bought from a friend who really wants it back so I struggle daily with my selfishness vs being a good friend.

the elite seriers are collector guns..I have an Elite I never seen another..any of the elite series are tough to come by

the only trigger difference in the lighter spring....takes about 5-10 mins to replace the standard spring with the D model

The Elite series have a few mods over standard series;
- Shorter and heavier Slide made from stainless steel. A bit beefier than standard slides as well.
- Novak slotted adjustable front sight.
- Skeletonized hammer
- Lighter trigger pull in both SA and DA action
- Barrel is fitted even tighter.
- Frame is different with a lower bore axis to alter the balance of the gun. Overall very little muzzle flip, even on the .40S&W.

I found 4 online today. The cheapest being $900 and the most expensive was $1150. Probably not bad prices if they are a collectors gun.

Shooting the buckmark today with my gemtech soon to be mine to take home!

I'm thinking my Spectre II should be in when the weather gets cold again.

I still find it odd that I can have the deadly part that shoots the projectiles within 30 minutes of picking it out, but the hearing safety accessory, suppressor, requires close to a year to get.

Especially when there are at least 1000 different unregulated ways to kill that don't make any sound other than "ughh","Ack" and "thump".

-the slide is different..its the brigadier slide
-IDK how you'd make the front sight adjustable....novak just means 3 white dots.....the rear could easily be adjustable, but the front should be
for windage only if you drift it
-trigger pull is just a replaced D spring..

I'd have to see a tighter fitting barrel on a beretta....everyone Ive ever seen is always been the same....

lowering bore axis is done through making a lower profile slide, or relief cutting the grip under the trigger guard which places...trigger guard looks the same as all the others

IDK...few hundred? dont keep track of that stuff.....

Here's an article on the Elite versions from GunWeek 2001.
http://www.gunweek.com/2001/feature0420.html

The front sight is a dovetailed Novak style sight instead of the fixed sight like what is on my 92FS.

I was just wondering if you shot it or if you kept it locked away as a true collectible. Personally I don't buy anything I can't use. The only thing better than a vintage collectible anything is one with a ton of experience that you drove or used the chit out of.

For 900 to 1100 its gonna be a kimber or an sti 1911maybe a colt. I couldnt justify that much for a beretta. As far as collector series guns I stay away from stuff that im afraid to shoot. Just like my tt bike I just had to have I was afraid to ride it like I wanted to so I sold it.

Around here 1100 dollars can get you a nice kimber, colt gold cup or a used sti. Depends what you are wanting to do. I use my xd 9 for idpa competition but its what ever you like. For that kind of money I would buy the xdm 9mm and a thousand rds of 9 and go to town

I liked my plan a lot better when I thought it was going to be in the $700-800 range so I will admit, it looses it's luster quickly at the prices I posted above.

But, I still like the Beretta. My 92 shoots incredibly well and I love the fact that there's very little plastic involved. The metal framed guns just feel better to me.

IMO, the Springfields don't rank any higher than my Ruger SR9 and I haven't touched it since I got the Beretta. In fact, the Ruger is going to a new home next week because I just don't ever see myself using it anymore. It shoots just as accurate as my Beretta but I just don't care for the way it feels anymore.

I haven't checked out the STI but reviews are very good. Can't say that I'm that interested in owning a 1911 yet though. Everyone seems to be drawn to a particular style of gun and the type of guns that jump out at me are the Beretta 90 Series and the Sig 226. Every time I pick up a .45, I just can't get past the cost to shoot. Maybe I'll change my mind once I get my reload station up and running.

You can get an sti in 9 mm. If you like metal frame guns I would think a 1911 would be a must have for you. I dont currently have o e but I am really looking Into buying a frame and slide from caspian and building my own 1911. I think its cool that every part gets fitted to the gun and it takes shape slowly over time. Plus there are a million options including double stack in 9mm which is most likely the route I will go as I cant afford 45 I just sold my sr9c to a guy at work. It was a nice shooter natural point and shoot for me. Thats what I love about my xd point and shoot and see the hole exactly where I want it to be

Well that's how I feel about my Beretta. I just can't imagine a better, more natural shooting gun. I was just looking for a sexier version. ;)
