Looks like you are on your way to a very nice setup. Be careful with the auto-indexing on that Hornady press and be sure you adjust it right. It can be tricky and fragile at the same time.

I've read about indexing and the depriming station being finicky on the Hornady AP. I have been watching ebay for a Hornady or RCBS single stage press for just this reason. Single stage will be way nicer for depriming and running small batches for dialing in loads pre production. I've heard that by removing the priming from the process that you eliminate a lot of headaches.

The funny thing is, even with all I have already purchased, there is still a list of things I think I need, not counting dies for doing more calibers. Missing from the pic is 2000 9mm plated bullets that should arrive tomorrow as well as a full set of single shellholders for the priming tool.

Couldn't help myself. I have so much free time on second shift that I kill my shifts looking online for things to buy.

Besides, I hauled 4 truck loads of old unfinished, unstarted projects to the dump to make room for new stuff first. Our new life in Savannah is all about working less and playing more.

Sounds good. My life is about getting projects done this year. Want to finally live in a fi ished house for a short while before I sell it.

Welcome to the addiction! And start saving for when you decide to load for your rifles!

Very nice pile you have there. I'm still thinking about loading my own pistol ammo but I barely find time to shoot, so i'm not sure when I would find time to reload.

What do you anticipate you'll be doing first, and the most?

Good to know. I'll be working out in the garage anyways with a big fan going most of the time.

if you can take over a room in the house you will be better off.....I like to leave mine ready to rock so all you have to do is walk up and pull the lever...if you garage it, youre best to drain your powder hopper and primer tube every time you use it...

spent primers on the floor will now become a part of your normal daily life lol

I plan on loading 9mm the most and a bit of 45 later on. The plan is to do everything in batches so I will gather, clean and prep brass in advance and then pull out the equipment and run ammo in batches of 1000 as inventory gets depleted. The way I shoot now it might only be 2 or 3 times a year. I have a large pelican case that will be home for the press and dies the rest of the time since I need my bench free and clear for OCD business.

It makes zero sense financially that I reload but it's something I have always wanted to do so I am basically doing it for the experience more than anything.

youll be surprised...once yiou figure out where to get cheap components thats when you start saving....

I can load 1000 .38/9mm for less than 120 bucks
1000 300 blackout for 190
1000 .44/.45 for 140

not including cost of brass or equipment

I was looking at the the Turret style presses. Its seemed like the best for the qty and variety of calibers I would be reloading for. Which is only pistol at the moment.

I might get into 300blk but I don't want to buy a rifle.
