it was not part of the order he paid for though. They did not exist when he ordered, I know because I made the first ones when I was down there well after his hull was ordered. Then they were offered as add ons. I don't think they should have been offered if they weren't going to come with the ski but it was not originally in the order.

Then it's forever an excuse to not deliver it at all, deliver it late, or have it be some horrible POS. I stand by my original point: "it's free" is no excuse for :):):):)ty customer service. If the vendor agreed to provide the part, then no matter what the price was, he/she (the vendor) should honor that and treat that part delivery the same way as his highest paying order. (In a perfect world!)
Otherwise the vendor falls into a line of thinking that prioritizes orders by how much the customer paid for it.

Not quite, it would be like ordering a fry and burger and the guy said he would throw in a coke for free and took a long time to get you your coke, lol

errrrr, Swap ordered parts, hull, plus what ever. Does not matter, If he has not been supplied all the parts then his order is not complete........

Years ago, 2004, I ordered an XMetal Pole, this was one of the early ones. In the deal Pat said he would throw in a set of bars and turnplate as "Sponsorship"....... He sent the Pole but forgot the Bars/Plate. It took 5-6 months to get them. It became a running joke. He even told me to bash him on the boards until I received the parts..... I did so, but in fun......... I still had my UMI plate and bars........ But my order was not complete until the plate and bars showed up. Huge difference here, I could ride, Swap can not without sourcing parts that she should not have to.

He shouldn't have offered the hulls if they were not perfect. Who cares if they were discounted.
Its post like this that can make this site so frustration at times, what imperfections about the hull have been posted for a comment like this?

This thread was about lack of communication and not getting a couple of add on parts shipped.

At the time of you ordering? Or at a later time? If it was agreed you would buy the pole because you got the turn plate your post is useless. It was not in the original agreement, it didn't exist...

I can appreciate you're trying to turn this around on me and draw attention away from yourself, but you can rest assured that my commenting on free parts has nothing to do with my own current hull order - yet.
In previous comments in this thread, I have made it clear that I was addressing no one in particular and the industry as a whole. So let me be very clear about this comment about free parts so that there is no misunderstanding in the matter: In this case, I am very specifically talking about Swapmeet's hull ordering experience through you, the late shipping, and your lying about having shipped parts. Perhaps you can offer some witty comment and a couple of :) to excuse that practice?

Is that clear enough? :)

PS: Another recent experience where I have seen this happen was with WDK and ROK-R orders.

No, I called Pat to order the pole and in our conversation he offered the Plate and Bars as a "Sponsorship" deal......... You missed my point. When you make a deal with someone, it should not matter at what point the deal was made, the provider is suppose to provide said items like agreed upon. Now, if that deal was made within a few weeks prior to shipment of the hull then that could be a legitimate reason for delay. But from SM's post he went through a period of no communication from Steve for a while......... I can think of only one reason why he would not respond.............

Don't get butt-hurt, consider it constructive criticism. Take the best of it and use it to make your business better.

Don't be the guy that has just the best riding hull. "It's all worth it once you start riding it" is a great testament to your hull, but horrible testament to the rest of your business. Strive to give customers absolutely nothing to complain about. Be that guy. I get that it takes time, of course it does. Just don't get mad when people point stuff out to you. They want you to improve. Sometimes it's better to swallow your pride and take the advice.
That's how you get better.

When I ordered my freak and tem couldn't deliver, he kept promising it in a few more weeks. Happened for almost 6 months, nobody jumps all over his ass when he's late but when a new guy comes on thr scene u ride his ass. My hull was a couple weeks late then when promised. Sure beats 6 months or not ever getting a hull like some folk around here.

It sucks and is inexcusable. The reason nobody knows about it is that the unfortunate customer chose to keep it quiet and didn't speak up. That problem you're complaining about? You're part of it.

Everyone knows about WDK issues. People know about Rickter's taking a long time to get delivered and about their (early) quality issues.

Besides, I don't think anyone here (certainly not me) is riding anyone's ass for delivering a hull two weeks late. Where are you getting this?
