Custom/Hybrid Jloria's "Ah, freakout!" build...2012 Superfreak -4.3

Steering update

cleaned up the bolts to the umi system...may go with the UMI steering and pick up a rebuild kit from JSS...see below

I decided to run the blowsion phat clamp plus UMI steering instead of the x-metal steering + bars.
I want to run some riser bars for adjustability

Problem is that the steering plate that attaches to the Blowsion phat clamp wont work with the x-metal pole

Does Xmetal make a fat clamp system?

( i found this one>>> http://www.teamxscream.com/products/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_29&products_id=6567)

OR

Is there a different turn plate that will house the blowsion phat clamp but work on the x-metal pole?

Get a different steering plate or grind that one down to clear the steering stop

yeap but this:

i would rather not grind it down if i dont have to + i already have a steering system ready to go

just planning on running riser bars for the adjustability if I can make that happen without buying a new system

I had a Blowsion turn plate, with the Blowsion fat bar clamp on an xmetal pole. I had to get a bolt from a local hardware store to thread into the xmetal center mounting point, because the Blowsion plate has that huge bearing on top and the xmetal mounting hardware wouldn't work. Hope helps a little bit.

I'm running Blowsion turnplate with Blowsion Phat clamp on an XM pole and it works fine but my pole is non adjustable. My Blowsion steering plate is a short plate and looks different than yours. Is that an old turnplate? Btw there's nothing wrong with grinding it down. It won't weaken the plate and if it looks ugly it'll be hidden by the chinpad. I guess I'm not a "form over function" guy... I do what works

The tips definitely help...

I am looking for a new turn plate for now but all the help counts...

I don't have much experience building skis so I am trying to put a good system together

Another question:

I have 2 cooling lines coming into the manifold...my cooling lines in the SF are parallel, on top of each other.

Does it matter how they run into the manifold?

I don't think it does, but wanted to make sure it's all the same.

I don't think so, at least I have never paid any attention to that.

I have some cut loom coming in for the trim cable.

Are you guys running your steering and trim cables, underneath the engine or out side of the motormounts?

or combination?

Use the easiest path that the cable will work and cut some thicker water line (or similar) and zip tie them over the cables at rub areas.

Absolutely not!
