My 750 motor "hits" harder and came out of the hole faster than any super jet its went against... It also out ran them on top.

I'd love to get to ride that one day. Maybe in Daytona. How is it set up? What kind of rpm are you turning?

im told the powevalve dasa kawi setup is suppose to be insane! i fin it ironic that to get a yami to make more power i know a local builder slightly increasing stroke and using the longer kawi rod..... rofl y not just change kawi port timing? ill never understand it

You can't just lower the port timing.

I felt my Kawi/DASA at 865cc with stock ignition was as strong or stronger than my Yami/DASA 8mm 885cc with MSD T/L. Very strong almost violent imo. Both setups were properly tuned and good setups, but with an Advent the Kawi definitely got the nod imo. Underrated motor. Have fun

Can any of you guys who posted in here share some advice and pictures of your setup. I am in the same predictament as most of you. Ive been a kawi guy but owned yamahas and still own 4 of them.

I had a motor built up in Oregon by a Very Reputable Builder Chris Newmiller. Motor is well built and I kept it a single 46mm for freestyle purposes (I know dual would have made
Much more power). I thought I could do the unheard of and actually try to freeride it. Well I was mistaken......it's been very difficult to ride in the New Jersey Surf/Chop. It's almost like riding in a Number #2 pencil as a tray.

Point is my Little Built Single Carb Setup hits Great. Hits a lot harder than a few SJ's I rode with heads and pipes.

My Setup Current 763cc
-92 Low Port Timing Cylinders
-Big Pin Ported Cases
-Reeds , stuffer, Basket Porting
-26.3cc Milled Head 180psi pump gas (93)
-Lightened Flywheel
-Freestyle Porting
-Factory Pipe w/ Port Matching
-Skat C-75 9/17 Swirl w/ pump cone, Bored 82mm reduction Nozzle.

I have a lot of money into the Above ^ so my argument to all my friends that never owned a built kawi ( hence they like the motor but hate the hull...they have Aquabots and a Rickter ) is why would I sell my Kawi Setup which everything in there in brand new including new crank topend oem seals wear collar ect..... For pennies on the dollar because "Kawis are not popular" for somebody's Unknown Limited Setup out of their Yamaha ???????????

I've talked to Tony at Tigercraft, He's awesome ...I expressed a lot of interest in a bot for the 2015 Season. I'm keeping my options open, but Tony is only 30mins away and I'm a Local Guy. I'd love to support a local Builder. Maybe I can talk to him
About the Kawi Motor in a Yamaha Based Hull w/ my Yamaha Full Mag Pump.

It just sucks being on the other side of the fence not knowing what to do and it can really stress me out when I think about it.

if i cant sell my 750sx as a whole i am keeping the engine setup and hooking it to a 155 yamaha pump. just because kawi isnt popular here doesnt mean they aren't good. lots of australian guys run kawi base power. if you like your setup then i woul run in in an aftermarket hull. i would put money on once you have that setup hooked to a 144 pump it will turn a lot of heads.

That's what I am thinking. My buddy has a similar setup in his kawi sx flat deck with a rocker nose. He flips and rolls. Only difference is he doesn't have porting like I do, and I don't have a Jetnetics Flywheel like he does. Only a stock Newmiller Lightened. He also runs a Riva Powerbomb I believe 48mm. When I ride that it is impossible to plane out...it Bunny Hops out the water.

- In NJ I never seen anyone have or run a built kawi. Coincidence or not. I like to be different .

It's not about keeping a built motor you already own. It's about wether its worth spending those build dollars in the first place. Did those SJs that didn't hit as hard as your kawi have all the same work done? Or were they just stock motors with a pipe.

The destination is not the question, its the journey, or more importantly, how much that trip costs.

i like proving it can work. and i love how my kawi feels. did chris do your porting? if i decie to keep my 750 im looking at freestyle porting options right now. vs just going insane with a dasa setup

i can't always agree with that... i mean sure they is the proven sure fire way to do x y or z. but without innovation and trying different things we won't ever progress.... everyone using yamaha doesnt make them better. sure it makes parts cheaper by supply and demand but even then a dasa setup for both motors costs about the same....

Chris Did, He did the Whole Motor. I would Highly Recommend Him for the knowledge base and the Customer Service. He will sit on the phone with you and not run you out the door. IMHO that's what sells me, the boat does run well thanks to Franny getting me dialed In.

Was the Journey Worth it.....Tough Question!

If I knew what I knew now, and have sat and talked to older guys who shared their Experience with me ......Well Yes , I would have built a Yamaha. With the Money I spent putting this Together there is no Doubt in my mind I would of had a Pretty Badass Yamaha.

- Past is the Past now and I just have to look forward. One thing I do know is I cannot excel in a Narrow tray. For my skill set and experience Wide is Best.
