Using it to fill the bond line will be heavy if you don't mix some microballoons in with it. Most people either use foam or epoxy/cabosil/microballon mixture or 3M 5200.

You could cut that in half with the microballoons and the stuff is cheap. But weight isn't important for the surf riding your gonna do anyway. Post some pics.

So I did one side.... man that 17oz is a pain in the ass.

I will take some pics when it's cured. It's currently getting the shoplight treatment. Also, some areas looked like it had air under it, but no amount of the detail roller or the squedgy would make it look any different. I tried adding epoxy on the spots, pressing it in, rolling it out, and it made no difference. Oh well

I filled the bond line with cabolisl, I did a 6" strip across the bond line, then followed that with a top to bottom strip, from front to back.

Well here are some new pics, from sanding a bit more, to grinding on the glue crap, to actually laying a little glass.

Notice how the white spots all run in a pattern almost. There is definitely no air in there. I acetoned the entire area about 2-3 times before I started glassing. There was nothing on there as far as contaminates go. I was a bit sloppy on some spots, but overall it's ok I guess.

you guessed it....

and the little rounded piece is just something I threw one when the resin was starting to cure, there is a small crack there so I figured something was better than nothing. I would have done it earlier, but I forgot about it.

Also, I have a bit more work to do on the other side tomorrow before I start the glassing on it...

On those white spots..... today when it was all cured, I took a tiny piece of 2x4 (Small footprint) and a hammer on the outside, and was beating the ******** out of the side of the boat directly over the white spots. Everything was holding fine. MAN it made it stiff. I can barely dent the side in by pushing on it.

Anyone seem to have these spots before? I'm thinking it's something in the glass, or when it was made.

The other side is complete as of lastnight as well.

How much can I lower the exhaust tube on the bulkhead without having an issue with the exhaust hose in the engine compartment?

I finished grinding all the ribs out of the upper front (HUGE) pain in the ass....

Now I need to sand the entire engine compartment to rid it of old crappy paint, repair the spot in the front, and then finish cutting on the bracket mounting area to lower it. Then it will be reinforcing the sides, and wrapping up the engine compartment. After that it's time to finish sanding in prep. for paint, and stick my WCF front sponsons on. Oh yeah, throw finishing up the ass end in there too.

About the white spots. I have the same thing on my roundnose after reinforcing it. I tried to get them out when the resin was wet, I could make them go away by putting more resin on it, but they would just come back. I think it is just something in the glass.

Yea me too. It's like that area just wouldn't hold resin. I know for a fact the hull was prepped perfectly, I drowned it in acetone and it was all dry before I started glassing. Also, it looks like a pattern.
