NO HATE ZONE PLEASE !

Cleaning up a little this evening, took a pic of a stocker and my hull head to head . I even took the trouble to level them to the same height .

what sort of heater were you using when pull the nose up (not the bond line but the hull)

i'm toying with doing a rocker on a SN, less glass and shaping the hull is far more appealing.

thanks.

Propane space heater and an industrial heat gun . Also used a fluke lazier temp gauge . I think the surface temp was best around 300 degrees F . It would form a little lower just needed more pressure.

Even if I take until after the summer to finish, it would still be an order of magnitude faster! Lol. Kevin stays to busy doing favors for everyone else to work on his own stuff.

Nice Kev. Super curious to see what this thing weighs in at. Its a surf hull so not a big deal, but I am curious.
Love the mods bro.

I'm at 94 lbs with Big ass tubbies and no hood . I estimated the carbon needed to finnish around 108 . Total 114 lbs with hood . I'm guessing it will be about the same weight as stock with foot holds turf etc. It's Real hard managing weight when you cut a hull to pieces and stick it back together .

Got the second row of inserts in and the final shaping of the tray done . The bolt spacing will allow adjustment in 2 inch intervals . I would like to have had 1 inch, but the math would not work out . Also Prepped the in side for carbon reenforcement . I'll let the plexus dry then tomorrow plan on starting on some glass .

If you notice the inserts have a slight lip around edge . I plan on laying a layer or two of glass (using it as a shim ) so the foot hold will have a level surface to mount to . I think it will be worth the extra effort.

You could still slot the mounting holes in the foothold 1/2" each. Then each set of inserts would have 1" of adjustability. Genius, says I.

True dat ... That is an option. I had the RRPs in another boat and they would slip if the bolts were not monkey tight. Slotting may be an option , but would probably put a no slip industrial tread ( like skate board grip tape ) on the hold and the gun well to keep it from sliping when you tighten it down.

Made the shims and glassed them in . It's going to work great . Used a 1x4 and foot hold bolts to squeeze the shim into place. Came out like I know what I'm doing. It amazes me how much time little things take ..... been working on the freak a little mounting brackets etc. Tomorrow is going to be a marathon glass day . Plan on doing the tray and gunwales .
