Good luck mr Porsche or Prius driver. Krash is coming to squash the competition. Rickter will always be on top though as well as the price. The price tag of this krash deal is very appealing. Did y'all say financing too? I do say good luck and hope we continue to grow the sport. Cheers.

I kind of see the resemblance.

I don't understand the hate being cast towards @air blair. His comments above were helpful and positive. Going after his creative use of materials on his own hulls seems out of place in a thread about Krash.

air blair would you buy a complete ski that had a lower quality standard than yours? when they show up as complete units I really am excited to see them in the public hands and theres no sarcasm attached to that. it will definitely open up a new, small market for the industry but I just see this opening up a GIANT can of worms to anyone that gets into the sport of freeride or freestyle. its going to take a million bucks to do it right and not have problems. your going to be putting amateurs on these things who probably have limited skills on riding and mechanical ability. Now what do you do if you are in the middle of no where and this thing breaks? order a crank, top end, ebox from ???? CHINA OR THAILAND OR AUSTRAILIA? or will one of the u.s. dealers stock them? and then get who to do the service work? is that dealer going to get paid to do service work? If these things take on water through the hood seal just riding, what about a novice trying flips for his first time? assuming every ski will be tested and ran before its shipped would solve some of that problem. And financing! forget it, I don't see how a bank would do any of this until it goes through the homologation process. I guess you could always get a personal loan if it came down to it. its getting harder and harder to register skis every year. we are so fortunate to throw together a simple list of materials used and register it as a homemade build. now you have to pay tax on the 12k for now, then it jumps to 15k so it becomes over 16k ready to ride, depending on where you live. spend another 2-3 grand you can get a M****** BAD A$$ SKI that's already proven from a handful of American manufactures along with oem Yamaha parts instock ready to ship with just a simple phone call from over 50 dealers in the U.S. I can see it all paying off over time, but from a manufacturing standpoint just seems like a huge liability.

That's why they are doing it and you are not. They must see a large profit margin to be investing so much in a rtr skis that being said I would not gamble on it being as advertised. I prefer to build a ski myself the hunt for the deals meeting various people who are knowledgeable in their own way. I've built 4 am skis in 3 years ranging from 1100s to 900s 13k was the most i spent on a build which was the wife's ski :)

Man, just cause I don't believe an unbreakable hull doesn't exist dosnt mean it does not or just cause I don't think this approach in the thread is gonna work out for consumers means what.....

I do love the idea and all the innovation overseas, but it is just that "foreign" will the people be taken care of. It's a risk the 12k money holders will take. The fate is in the future. I do hope this all holds water in the end. I know how well the predator rides but skeptical on the .50 cal 1000cc being a well rounded hull. Then again that sxr1500 ain't no joke. She is fast. I see beginners getting messed up this year.

I already fixed the hood seal/hood mount on the 50cal. No one wants to listen to the solution lol... My 50cal is a solid ski! I beat the poop out of it and it's held up pretty well so far.

I do agree that trying to do to much at one time without the right support in place will lead to a huge problem. It's a huge under taking to globally support a bespoke product with that many parts.

Financing by a legit institution is a long shot IMO because you need insurance. The rates on these skis would be 8-12% with great credit. Like others have said you now have to be legal and pay tax also. Add all this up and $12k ain't such a great deal unless you can pay cash.

It's a very bold business move for sure. No matter how much Others bash it they will either succeed very well or come Krashing down. High risk High reward I hope they do well.

Meh. Just march down to the credit union and get yourself a 6.99% personal loan. If you have good credit. (Bad credit costs). If you finance the whole 12K you'll fall into that $350/mo range. If you need more than 36 mo to pay that's when mama interest eats your soul starting at ~14%. Yikes.

I bought a new 2015 SJ and now I'm getting a 50cal RTP. One of the drivers for me is I personally just don't know enough to build a great ski. Even among our Wave Junkie group there is a lot of variance around the best recipe. With all the build talent in the junkie group there's no doubt it could be done and well. The timeframe might have had to be more flexible than I wanted. I felt this 50cal was a good one for me after really looking at Erik's hull up close at WaveDaze. I thought I'd love the thing. At carolina beach freeride I rode Phil's and Eriks. Not super hard or in the surf but enough to get a great feeling for the hull with two different configurations. SUPER big thanks to those guys for letting me ride their brand new babies. (Thats community) The carve and the thrash seemed equally ready to rip.

Concerns? Sure. Troubleshooting issues, Parts availability, replacement part pricing. Real value of the warranty is a little of an issue less given that my brand new JS ran out of warranty when I ran out of dealer asphalt.

Overall, I am like a kid counting down the days till Santa leaves my goodies under the tree.

Will it be perfect? Doubtful. I'm no pollyanna but I am willing to take a leap of faith every now and again.

~Peace mah brothers and sisters in shred.
