Freestyle Lee Stones New Hull!

I forgot!
I know he is a skilled rider, I can tell that his ski is extremely powerful. He is a top rider no doubt. I just keep hoping for a better form of competition for these guys. A 2 min routine of flips and skips and combos of the same thing just seems to have little individual style casing. It seems too rushed to let these guys chill out and lay out some great stylish executions of a trick. We know these guys and skis can do every trick right after another to the point that announcing it is sounding retarded. I don't know what the solution is but every year I just hope to see something different from where it keeps going. It no ones fault. It's just the way it is. I would like to see a throw down show down comp.

I can digg that and agree. Maybe they should all get 15 or so tricks and that's it. 15 different tricks and if they duplicate tricks they are not worth as much... Or something.

The amount of tricks performed should be calculated by number of competitors. A trick combo can be allowed using up to three seperate tricks. This would be to make a single highly advanced move to copy. So for a rider to set the stage for others to follow he could do a huge one foot no hand single flip or maybe a 3 flip in a row for his trick to be copied. Lineup order is random. Gotta pick a new trick for each rider to set the stage with when it his turn.Lead rider for the trick is setting the trick of choice to be repeated by all other competitors and hopefully can not be executed better than what you do as the trick. So if there was 5 riders, each rider chooses a trick, 5 different tricks would be done.by all riders. We get to see who does the trick the best and if anyone can bring a trick no one else can copy. Like lee's new move.

I can't believe all the bashing here. That was the most amazing display of stand up freestyle that I have ever seen! Who cares if the hulls are purpose built, or if the pole is 3 inches long? Those guys are talented, and have skis built with parts that most of us drool over. If you want to ride WOT, jump waves, and ride all day on one tank of gas, then get an second ski for that. This is the World Finals.

Look at how big these guys are going compared to 5 years ago. Every year they push it. I'm still wowed. Could they improve it, yes, but I would hardly call any of the tricks or routines lame

Well what can I say I am amazed at the negative comments about Lee, his hull and his performance. How many riders did you see execute any new tricks? How many riders did you see doing a superflip that Lee performed 2 years ago ? In the routine some of you are criticizing Lee did a superflip into a triple backflip at which point the rope securing his pole snapped he went over the top hit his head and was disorientated for some time, did you even notice this? Unlikely Why don't you wait until you know why his pole is so short, why his feet are where they are, why his pole and bracket is where it is why his stance it like it is, this is all done for a reason.

Lee has designed developed, prototyped and tested this hull. He has ridden it this weekend with officially the smallest engine in the class, an incredible achievement which is testament to his determination ( only matched by DROCs ignorance). Check out the photo I took of the Scarecrow on our FB page ( and now everyone else's too) the extension is pure precision and probably happens too fast in real time to
appreciate it.

What Lee has achieved in 12 months in my opinion deserves nothing but respect and admiration.

Chris

Couldn't agree more.

What engine was he running?

The sport has definitely changed, I have never seen a ski do what these guys are doing nowadays, nor I thought it was even possible. ROK style is great to watch, more fluid IMO. But the trophy belongs to Stone without a doubt for the new tricks He is performing.
The game has changed and is all about timing now. The pump has enough time to be filled with water and....BAM! to the next trick. I think we will be seeing more Hulls that will be designed specifically for this purpose. A hull that its rear end will not sink but glide on impact instead....wings? maybe? ha ha!

Anyways KUDOS to these guys, IT DOES TAKE GREAT SKILLS TO PULL THESE STUNTS OFF.

On a humorous note.....can't wait to see the next Hull....."Pogo Ski".....anyone?

I don't see why people have to bash on these hulls.. If you don't like them, don't buy them and stick to the old skis! Lee stone had a very impressive routine and he had my vote for sure, noone else pulled out any big combo's like he did, noone else did a superflip, and he invented a new trick. I think that when he was riding the EME he was getting better air, but that's just my opinion

Lee is an innovator, i do agree that Rok did a allmost flawless routine. Buut Lee did new tricks and allso superflp as the only one.
I dont know how the judges give points, but sure a trick like the scarecrow should get double or triple point. that was SICK! IMO it was close run between Rok and Lee. But if i were the judge i think Lee would have been nr 1 !

Some people are impressed by less than others. Anything I think or you think Isn't going to change who wins either. It would appear his oh so sick new trick which is a variation of another old trick was not enough. I would not say any of these guys suck.

That's true and doing a trick that cannot be seen with the naked eye but needs a still photo to appreciate does not look good. Lol. I joke.
