Nothing yet. Another hobby and a couple vacations robbed me of the funds that I had set aside for the last of the materials I need. I'm going to try getting those materials ordered in the next couple weeks and maybe put in the hours through september to get it finished up.

Started ordering some more stuff. XMetal footholds, aluminum tubing for the exhaust and cooling lines and some stainless bar stock to make inserts for the gas tank, waterbox and battery tray. Still need to get some plexus, foam and more biax but Im going to try like hell to finish up the hull through september.

Decided to try making a little splash guard just in case I end up needing something.

Need some two part foam to finish my attempt at a splash guard but probably wont worry about that for a while. I spent some time sanding the engine bay and then moved on to the exhaust. I mocked it up with pvc and will hopefully be taking the aluminum to a muffler shop to have them bend it. Im thinking about mounting it with plexus and using the plate with all the holes drilled in it to secure it. Might be able to get a few layers of glass around the top and back edges. Anyone think I should do something else?

Decided it was time to redo the repair on the starboard side.

Jeremy look into the php, I was originally going to go with the boyesen as well.

Thanks blair. Are you on the lakes area freeriders page on facebook? We had a pretty awesome ride going on duck lake this past weekend you should have been out there!

Still taking baby steps with the ski, trying to make sure I dont overlook anything. Talking about it keeps me motivated so my apologies for not having pics with lots of progress. Stuck the footholds in the tray to see how they fit with my mock up exhaust. Looks about perfect! Picking up some more biax and carbon friday and Im going to start laying material down in the engine bay this weekend.

I almost have the engine bay fully prepped just need to do the nose and under the hood seal. This was a lot of work, I took down a good amount of material to make sure Ive got a strong bite into solid glass. I started with a 36 grit flap disc on a 4" grinder, then used a 36 grit pad on a die grinder and finished off with 40 grit by hand.

The nasty part of this project that has been constantly haunting me is finally done! Who knows how many hours Ive spent cutting, stripping, grinding and sanding. Today I picked up a bunch of supplies including carbon, biax and a pair of beastly scissors. I got some of the biax down in the nose under the pole bracket area and under the lip for the hood seal. Tomorrow Im going to work on the front where the decks meet and if possible cover the motor mounts and scupper holes in the bulkhead. Got my PHP intake mani too.

Yea these scissors are no joke! They are actually made for cutting kevlar, they go through this biax like butter. As I understand it the php intake doesnt space the reeds out which keeps the crank case volume lower to increase torque.

Wasnt able to work on the nose more. The milled fibers I put down lastnight to fill the gaps in the rocker still havent fully cured, but I did get a few layers of biax on the motor mounts and the scupper holes in the bulkhead.

Looks good! Why are you running the exhaust out the side instead of the back?

Thanks Chris! I saw the exhaust coming out the side on one of the brawlers at wavedaze and thought it looked pretty cool so I decided to give it a try.

Yea don't run it put of the side man. Super annoying. And isn't the proper way to route exhaust

Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 2

Whats so annoying about it? Darkwaters Rok-R has it coming out the side and I didnt notice anything wrong with it. Please explain the proper way.

If u put it back far enough it shouldnt b annoying others have tried it and have had it to far forward and youll catch all the noise and smoke.
