Liter motor dreaming...

I have a killer 713 with 190psi and modded 38's that rips hard......so I know that set up well.

No replacement for displacement....along with the proper set up. So 865>800 all day.

You guys that keep spitting "get over epoxy" are funny. You have no evidence that it is rock solid. I'm not saying its not but I would not just say get over it without questioning it.

PM Tricky.

But to expect something, especially a Mod Motor to have a life of over 6 years is not realistic.

We all wish for this.

he didn't say he wanted the motor to last 6 years, just the epoxy. a stock stroke team scream motor could be bored and rebuilt every few years+ and last for a very long time.

exactly! A long long time=good bang for the buck....

But because I would not want to re do the epoxy myself it means I would have to send the cases out just to be re epoxied and that annoys me.

That is why I would prefer a stock stroke w/o epoxied cases IF possible.

Here is my question for you Mat.. do you REALLY expect to have this motor for 6++++ years? Heck in 2-3 years there will be something else out that everyone is going to be all gaga over.

Yes I do....I'm not like that. I have my hull for life....I have a great motor now. My last motor lasted forever.

If I get a 865 (or especially a 1000) you can BET YER ARSE I will have it for a long long long time.

I am not rich and I don't jump on the latest greatest.

so, lets say you buy one of these monsters...and in 2-3-4 seaons it needs a rebuild

are you going to take it to any machine shop have them hogg it out and slap it back together, or are you going to send it back to TS and let them do it..?

if it goes to TS, it will get full broken down..inspected, and you can guarantee any issues would be addressed at that time.

Dok I have built 2 motors and they were/are solid. I have no fear of doing top end rebuilds and new cranks/seals. Super easy IMO. Epoxy in cases I would send out.

pretty sure the prices are approx this for a ss 865

kit - $3100
m/c & assy - $700
oem case/crank - $1500
oem seals & other parts- $200
boyseen intake/reeds/mod carbs $1500
flame arrestors $150

so thats around $7150

the team scream modded b-pipe is around $900

then you need your bed plates, electrics, flywheel cover

just to give approx $$ values

no fear of them here, either...

I couldnt even tell you how many motors the crew has built here.....

20?
30?

proably more...

we have a boremaster in the garage..........

these are not stock motors though....big HP motors are different

custom squish
big pistons with tight tolerance
special cooling designs

Ive said it before and will again..

you can absolutey tell the difference between a pro built motor and a home built motor...EVEN WITH THE SAME PARTS!
