well that took longer than I had wanted. trying not to rush. I had an airleak I could not find and so this part is not usable for a build. it will end up being my topdeck. I had wanted to shave a layer out for mine and push the limits on my own boat but I guess this one will be it.

I think I have a pinhole in the mold. I will be trying to track that down today. at any rate, with the smaller parts I have been working to try and get the gelcoat not print as much. still have some stuff left to try, but this is the first time I have infused using epoxy primer and it either didnt cure enough or was too thin. ill sort it on some smaller parts while I find the leak. came out 25lbs with the excess trimmed. 19lbs of that is the glass in it. the rest is resin and primer.

sadly its just me, not even any drugs or alcohol dependancy to lean on. but thanks! its a sickness with this infusion stuff. its so clean and calm. and I think faster too. not like the mental prep you have do go thru before handlaying a big part. thats like an endurance event. there is still stress, once you let the resin loose its tense until it kicks. if you get a leak and cant plug it, well. its not good. last night I had a rideplate infused and was about an hour in when the hose slipped off the connection into the bag. aaagggghhhhh!!!! lol. it was almost gel but still.

Where's my hull Tom? You said it would be done 6 months ago!

You can't be a real hull builder until you have drama and somebody crying about you taking too long. Just doing my part to help you become more legit :)

Just curious if you have an apx time frame for a hull to be completed and ready to sell??? I've already decided on building an FX1, just need to decide on buying one or waiting and building this hull to be exactly what I want it to be.

lol. you funny guy, hahaha. machinist said last week I should be getting my inserts this week. I believe I have figured out my primer problem and will be doing a hood to confirm before I do the bottom deck.

wont matter anyway, as these hulls are not going to be finished by me. they have custom stuff they want to do before closing it up. but I will make mine and hope to have it on the water for daytona.

thanks for the motivation though. I better get the rest of the bronze to the machinist as the 2-3 week turnaround could be a problem if I wait too much longer to get the material for mine to them.

once I get thru this batch I will have a better idea, right now I still have some loose ends to finish. once all the kinks are worked out I would think a hull could be made in 2 weeks or less.
