My number one goal this season isn't a roll or a flip - it's to stay running without rebuild.

Painting today.....well, priming, anyways.

Went with a nice orange, plus pearl over that, then clear.
Reg stickers, Blowsion graphics, and a tri-foil will be bright green.

The Square is getting a nice deep pink, pearl, clearcoat, and silver graphics.

Mix pearl into the orange or go with a pearl white basecoat, orange candy over that.

I'm getting ready to do the top half of my ski. Been reading a lot into painting combinations lately.

Pearl is a separate basecoat that goes over the orange/pink basecoat.
No candy.
$258 for paint is enough.

Matt, if your using a standard paint gun stop!!! Go down to Harbor freight and get the cheap arse HVLP cup gun for like 12.99 on sale, made a huge difference in the quality and ease of painting for me. I have 2 extra's if you need one.

Luke got pissed when he found out I did my first paintjob (and Phill all of his) with that gun. He said it looked too good for a Harbor Freight Gun.
It's still an 8ft paintjob, but what the heck.

They don't need to be better than that for us.

Here are some pictures.
Primered bottom, raw and wetsanded.
The Resin I use.
Phill's Square, with my hood sitting on top of it.

We did shoot the orange base coat and pearl last night, looked great.
Then I shot clear, and it was clearly (Lol) too thick.
Got runs on the tubbies I need to fix today.

Dang. Better to find out on the bottom I guess.

More pics.
Runs, and more runs. :ugh2:

Cutting those runs with a razor blade while they're still gummy.

After that cures better, I'll wetsand. Lesson learned for the top deck I suppose.

Holy crap, Matt bought something other than single stage???
Looks like the painted KTMs. Sweet.
I always end up thinning my clear more than they say so I don't have to lay it on as heavy for it to be glossy. My first few paint jobs I laid the basecoat way too heavy, you want to use a few really light coats, almost dusting it on.

Pictures of topdeck, with clear coat and stickers.
The Blowsion sticker didn't take the clear coat well, which sucks.

But I am wetsanding all the topdeck anyways, to get some orangepeel out and prep for buffing/polishing.
The pictures I took today are of the un-sanded top deck.
