It's done!!!
I took her for a ride today.
I am absolutely loving the shortened hull. Super responsive, fast steering, just a blast to rip around on.
No tricks today, still breaking in the new topend.

The nosepiece wasn't fully attached, so I took it off half-way through the ride.

Some pics.

Some observations:

The handling is a dream. I am absolutely in love with the shortened hull. All around improvement.
Of course, dropping 30 lbs of weight helped, too.
I am going to cut the plate down a bit.
The WDK hood and OEM hood seal do a very nice job of keeping water off. I like it.
I didn't have my bilge pumps connected today.

PS: I absolutely suck at sealing a ski. After riding, I pulled both drainplugs and had a good cup of water come out of each side. I am completely at a loss where it came in. I just have no idea.
This blows.

I guess I am glad I got drain plugs.

Btw, I set the carbs per recommendation I got from Ed Brazina last year for Duals, and they were spot on.
No tuning required. I like that.

Is that Davey in the background? Did Phill make it out as well? I've got the gas tank and water box pulled on my X2.

Hey how is the square coming?

I forgot!
shorten hulls rawk on flatwater, i get about 2 cups of water out of my ski after the last ride too. my buddy's hull completly filled up with water, above the bondline. we laughed our asses off when he pulled his drain plugs and it drained half the river out of it. he is leaking along his bondline and i think i am leaking on my left foothold. did yoy happen to do a nice ball slapper off your setup wake because the nose likes to go ski high on jumps? lol i did on my last ride.

No ballslapper yet, but it's bound to happen I suppose. I didn't want to get too crazy yesterday seeing how I was breaking in the new topend.
The dual 48's rock for power! :bananalama:

And like you said, shortened hulls are awesome!
My stock rideplate is still at stock length, though. With a hefty D-Cut, nonetheless.

if you want to make that hull turn even more aggressive you can look for a 550 steering nozzle. they are about an inch longer and once you flip it over and fill in the hole, work great. we stole one off my buddies 550 last summer and used it with slight modification, we had to put it back on the 550 because he wants to ride this summer. me and steve both pressurized our hull with some air to find the leaks, kinda sucks finding them after the turf is all done. at one point i had my hull airtight but then i put the footholds in and got excited with the turf and forgot to check for leaks...duh. next time.

I am not *too* worried about it.
Only so much water can get in, there's plenty of foam in there (waterproof foam).
I am just baffled as to where it's coming from.
Where did you find your leaks?

I forgot!
footholds on my ski, and steve forgot to fill the little holes from the screws on his bondline. Steve is going to use a product call Vulcum that is very thin and liquidy. he was going to turn his ski on its side and point the nose down a bit and let it flow down along the bondline inside of his hull. he also was hoping to pressurize it again to help force the Vulcum into the leaky spots. if it works good i may try some in my drain holes too but it will be alot harder to get it to seal up my foothold then his bondline. I can live with the amount of water that came out of my hull after one tank but steves was so full it was actually pissing out the bonline on the trailer. lol.
