How big of a sheet did you get?

Hmm.... probably 4ft by 8 foot? Something like that, and it's about an inch thick or so? It was 12.XX at Home Depot

and i just noticed in my above response..... I meant to say ISN'T as simple as it looks.. haha

With the Kawie cable, you don't need an adapter for a finger throttle either.

Just make sure you get one from a 750 SX. the 750 SXi/Sxi Pro have a narrow barrel at the throttle and require an adapter.

Same sheet I got then. It definitely takes some time and planning to cut the pieces and complete that puzzle.
First time around, I cut it with a sawblade. What a f'n mess that was.
Second time around I used a filet knife, much better.

Did u like the -2 hull cut.

Absolutely awesome, I am in love with it. Easily the best handling improvement I've done to my ski (that and Tubbies).
I was worried about potentially not liking it and being stuck with it, but it is a truly awesome improvement.
A much quicker handling hull, faster steering, more responsive to rider input, etc etc etc.

You are correct Sir.
Awesome cable, cheap.

Three questions
1. Did you use closed cell foam on the Square as well?
2. Did that one sheet provide enough foam for your entire ski?
3. Did you pour in any 2 part foam as well to fill in the 'gaps' or to act as a 'glue'?

You could just read the thread, but I know you're a poor starving college student, so I don't want your head to hurt from all that reading.

1. Yes
2. Yes - about 2/3 of sheet was enough
3. Yes - as filler, and to provide an even surface to glass the tray onto.
There is a minimal amount of 2-part foam, though. Exception: Top of the gunwhales and behind the holds.

Wetsuit looks a little snug, better get back out on the boat!

j/k

Turned out pretty nice. Not big on the graphics, but its all easy to change if you wanted to.

I want to try a shortened hull :(

I got one side completely done! Thank god!

I am using a box cutter, and scoring and snapping. I've never cut anything that dulls the blade so fast. It's rather amazing.

I will throw up a pic or two later in my build thread :cheer2:

Hey Matt, would you mind explaining exactly how shortening the hull changed the handling of the ski (Not theory, just feedback on the results). A little bit of detail would be nice. Commenting on the carving, sliding, ect... would be ideal :)

Okay....it rides a little bit more nose-high, as you would expect.
Turns are quicker, as if the ski responds to steering input faster than it did before. Again, I guess I'd expect that, since the nozzle sticks out further (essentially a set-back pump) and there is less hull in the water than before.
Same with rider input - the ski responds faster to it.
It makes for a more squirrelly ride, but I like that. Keep in mind that I shorted my pole setup and lost 40lbs of weight at the same time.
The ski feels a bit smaller now, perhaps because it responds better and turns faster?

Carving: Probably has more to do with the Tubbies, but it just carves really nice. Bars can touch the water, that's how well it carves.
That said, unweight the rear a bit, or turn rapidly, and the back end will slide around instantly. It definitely didn't do that before.

Now, the stock D-cut rideplate is still at stock length. I intend to cut that down a little and see what that does.

I forgot!
Awesome. If I don't end up saving enough for an 08 style hull over the summer/fall, I may shorten mine this coming winter.

why wait, do it in a weekend and you will be done. :fing02: My buddy is trying what we call a C cut plate which is the opposite of the d cut. the end of his plate is rounded, he also is using the blowsion trim nozzle, you should see how far that bad boy sticks out of a shorten hull.:headbang:

I forgot!
my plate is 12.5 inches long on the flat part but it pretty much matches up the the shorten part of the hull where it curves up to the hull. does that make sence or do i need a pic.
