Pic please
I am trying to decide what to do about my plate.
It handles like a dream now. I'd like to experiment, but I don't want to farck it up either.

why wait, do it in a weekend and you will be done. :fing02: My buddy is trying what we call a C cut plate which is the opposite of the d cut. the end of his plate is rounded, he also is using the blowsion trim nozzle, you should see how far that bad boy sticks out of a shorten hull.:headbang:

Because I just got the scupper and plumbing in last week, and just smoothed out the tray and fitted one side of the tray in... I've gone to far to take steps back, not now, no sir. I'm riding this bitch just like it is until I've had my fill of riding. :wizard:

lol we don't ride to make fashion statements. how long is your ride plate? i made mine off a mold steve made off of a plate that i think he shortened. i will go take a pic of the beauty.

Harrr, mine is a stock plate. Stock length, with a paint can D-cut.
So essentially a 2-inch extended d-cut flat plate.

Let's see a pic of yours!
I want to make a mold of a concave type plate.

okay here is mine, last year i ran my plate flush with the shortened hull and it was okay but i felt that it was too short and am trying this out. so far i think it feels better but i have switched alot from last season. i am getting the winter fat off slowly and should be down to my usual 180 lbs weight. the RN hull i have is way lighter than the SN last year too and that makes a difference again. i will probably just leave the plate as it is unless i try steve's C cut and really like it.

I'll measure it. Did you measure it from the pump shoe indent?

Also, is your hull pictured -2?

Update: I absolutely love the way this thing rides.
Even in the surf, it handles awesome. Some had warned me about possibly not liking the short hull in the surf, but I liked it better than a stock length hull.

The downside: The motor blew up. The bendix came apart, and I seized the cylinder.
I parted the motor out.
This ski is done for the rest of the season. :(

I am getting a motor built by Art @ Jetworks over the winter.

I ran a backup engine in this hull for the Blowsion party, and I still LOVE the way this ski handles in surf.
That motor is sold now, so I just got an empty hull sitting on the trailer.

I have my main motor parts at Jetworks now.
Getting a std. stroke (or MAYBE a stroker) big bore built, with dual 46 BlackJacks, maybe a TBM flywheel.

sorry to hear about the engine blowing, but sweet about the JW engine.

I have a cylinder at Art's now. Gonna assemble the engine, break it in, then take it down to him to have him power tune it. Well thats my plan atleast.

I should have my Jetworks Bigbore Engine in time for December testing
Talked to Art today, and it's ready to ship. Check's in the mail.

Standard stroke big bore (61X cyl), ported of course.
Ported, bored & epoxied cases
ADA Head, approx 190psi
Dual 46 Blackjacks
Bored & portmatched FPP manifold and headpipe.
Enhancer, etc etc etc
Everything is new, except for the cases and cylinder.
Maybe I can keep this one from blowing up every 20 hours.
(I didn't build it! :haha:)

Can't wait to try her out.
I have not been on the water since early August.

I have not sunk this ski yet, so I haven't tested it in a practical application.
However: Foam doesn't float a ski - water displacement does. All the foam does is displace water. Because this foam does not soak up water, I figure it floats the ski fine. It can't sink, unless the foam dissolves.
I can tell you that the back end feels more buoyant now than it ever did with regular (watersoaked) foam, even with the half-gallon of water it has in each side after each ride.

I know, lots of talk. I have absolutely no doubt that it works fine.

could you go ahead and pull the hood off and sink it and get back with me? j/k. Do you know of anyone else that runs foam like this? I seem to sink my skis a couple times a year, just curious.

I'll probably go this route next hull, it seems much easier and a better way to keep water out
