where's the effin paint?

If I get lucky, I'll have the base coat on this weekend.
I still need to wet sand the first coat of primer, fill more pinholes, prime again, sand that, then sealer, then base coat, then intercoat clear.

Did I mention it's 9 degrees out all of a sudden?

To me foot warmers are much more important than hand warmers. Love toasty footsies.

Meh. I wear neoprene socks and shoes. I can't stand gloves at all, so I need hand warmers for those 25 degree days.

I was wondering, if you are riding in 25 degrees and water is splashing on the throttle cable near the throttle lever isn't it possible for the throttle to stay open when ice forms on the cable ? never been there but was just thinking. Im waiting for global warming but it seems like its getting colder instead.

footwarmers.
most of the boats I build I install hose either through the gunnals and into the front of the foothold it self , or through the bulkhead along the outside of the tray turf ( sometimes under the underpading) and up into the foothold. in the summer I just remove the hose. from the head and reinstall the line to the pisser ...
pretty simple to do and it makes riding much more comfortable. unless you ride barefoot!!

More wetsanding and priming this past weekend!
This HOK epoxy primer is very thick and high build. The first layer I sprayed went on too dry and required a lot of sanding to knock it flat.
This time around, I sprayed it to the point of runnyness and it worked very well.

I'm moved by DASA power!
Looking good Matt, I wish I had mine here already. I am getting real nervous that I won have enough time to get mine together before wavedaze. The places around here are running at about 2 weeks start to finish time for painting mine :( not going to leave much time for me to assemble before we leave for wavedaze! Not to mention riding it so I don kill myself in the surf on a brand new ski practically!

I've decided to let only the quality work necessary to finish this build determine the schedule. Working to a deadline will result in shortcuts I really don't want to take.
Besides, I've got so many other things keeping me busy.

Right move on your part,Matt! Shortcuts now, means problems later. You spending the time you have to massage the hull smooth will make a sweet paint job!

Ha, I remember when freestylegeek built his XFT top deck conversion. We did some serious last minute cramming before Daytona. We were actually installing the motor on the beach at Daytona.

I'm not going to shoot myself in the foot now to ride for wavedaze, worst case scenario I drink my face off and hang out and watch superfreaks ride til I cam get mine out. My luck and I'd sink I the first weekend I have it running anyway :)
