I always use some sort of grease on the threads.
I got the ride plate cut last night and installed. Ebox mount installed.
I started working on the hood seal, but ran into trouble and out of time.

Thanks for all the compliments guys.

Did you put any sort of plate on the inside behind your bow eye? I just used a small one similar to the one you have on the outside. Had considered something bigger to spread out the stress but figured it would be okay.

I put a bigger plate on the inside.
I'll get pics of the breathers later.
The hood seal problem has to do with the hood hooks. They place the hood in a bad starting position for proper sealing.

Hmm...checked my desktop yami torque chart and it says impeller only 13...

what's the water temp there now ? I saw 86 degrees water in the Fl Keys the other day...

sorry i didn't realize matt was installing the cast oem prop. i thought he was using a skat.

Yamaha uses left-hand threads. Turn the impeller clockwise to remove the old impeller, and counter-clockwise for re-installation.

Apply grease or an anti-seize compound to the threads and slide the new impeller over the shaft and turn counter-clockwise to tighten.

Tighten the impeller to approximately 45-ft. lbs. Simply hand-tightening or snugging the impeller can allow the impeller to release and damage, but will also torque the impeller to the extreme, making it very difficult to remove in the future

Skat instructions.

I stand corrected...you are right.

You should install a plate on the inside, crazy stress during towing!

Looking good, Matt.

Let's see....things left to do:

Put all the cables through the pole and assemble handle bar assembly, adjust steering and trim
Glue and wire bilge pumps
Shape some nosefoam together
Install motor, waterbox, exhaust, tank
Do water routing and install pisser & bilge fittings.

And that should be it.
Oh wait, put registration numbers on it and get a HIN made.
