Custom/Hybrid my obsession back flip hull ??

Is it an optical allusion, or is one chine much longer than the other? (pic#3 above, right chine looks longer than left)
the chine is exactly the same as the other side , it is because i did use gelgoat that is for sanding . when the ski is ready i go spray paint it .
so it is an optical allusion .

telefoon foto's 002.jpgtelefoon foto's 001 (2).jpgi have made a top deck ,and it came out nice .
now i only have to make a inside of the hood .
i will try to make it this weekend .
it is a lot of work to make my own ski ,but i keep learning al the time .
and for you who want to have numbers , the weight is 25 kg right now.
i hope when al is ready to make 35 kg .

We need some people like you over here in the USA to drive the prices to realistic levels.

In your opinion, what is a realistic price for a product that takes a few hundred to a couple of thousand dollars of materials and about 100 hours of expert level skilled labor?
Please also take into account the labor going into the plug and molds which has to be recouped over all produced hulls in this rather small market.

the price is actualy why i started my projekt , it is impossible for me to pay 5 to 10 grand on a hull and than i have to ship it to the netherlands , and pay a lot of taxes .
and besides that i like to built special things like this , in the past i have made a one of a kind klx 110 pitbike crome moly frame with cradle and 1 inch longer than stock .
i still have the bike it is on wheels but ,i have never riden it yet , because the pitbike thing is a little bit over !!
but for this projekt i can not wait to have it ready , to try how it performs .
i almost have no time to do my every day job !! lol

Im not talking about a company trying to make a fortune building hulls. Im thinking more like people building their own airplanes. There are some guys building hulls for themselves. I would like to see a few dozen more that would be willing to make make a few extras for materials plus a good wage. We should see good glass hulls for less than $2000.

Those would be homebuilt hulls with corresponding homebuilt quality. But I get what you're saying

You would need to know what you wanted and how to grade quality. There are plenty of high dollar A/M hulls out there that are crap. At least a stock hull provides a consistant level of crappiness that everyone knows to work with.

I'm diggin this build. I'm really impressed with the quality thus far and your attention to detail. And all from scratch too...

I'm with Kevbo, there needs to be some middle ground between a $900 stock SJ hull and a ~$4k glass bob hull. Something in the middle in that $2000-2500 range. Because as much as i'd love to have a middle of the road aftermarket hull... its just outta my reach.

It'll get there... Just takes some time.

telefoon foto's 002.jpgtelefoon foto's 001.jpgi have decided to make some adjustable motormounts , so i can play with the motor position if needed .
the more i look at the ski , i think the next ski will have the topdeck a little lower than this one . i have some no needed space above the motor , what do you guys think ??

lol keep dreaming dude. Ask any of the guys on here who have done the work to make a hull or mold off a ski and lay it up. there is just too much time and material for anything like that. I think we have seen what happens when you do find one in that price range. its junk. im willing to watch YOU try it though. lol

so the 900usd stock hull is that brand new?
no it´s not. what does a superjet hull cost brand new. well guess. it´s alot.
a guy here in sweden was to buy a brand new hood for his superjet. asked the dealer for a price. 2000usd. say what.
have no idea what a superjet hull will cost brand new. but it aint going to be cheap.

get this yamaha produces the superjet with fast methods. smc bottom glas top. they can make way more hulls than a a/m hull builder can.
and they still cant keep prices down(to the consumer)

next thing people is going to say.
"WTF is teamscream crazy why cant the sell a complete motor with all for less than 3k i can get a GOOD used 62t/61x on ebay for 750usd"

keep in mind that a BRAND NEW hull from an a/m builder is most likley better at least if you buy one that does what you want it to do.
maybe when the jetski world is take over by a/m hulls now that all the mfgs will stop. the prices on
used a/m hulls will be cheaper since the demand will be lower.

edit: i would like for hulls to cost less cause then i could buy one as of right now.
but this is not reality. everybody is trying to make money and if there wasn´t any money to be made in jetski hulls no one would spend the r&d to make them better and this will rob us from new hull designs and leave us with old a/m hulls and superjets.
