Long story short my wife and I met 12 years ago at a local street bike spot. Well, three kids later we made the decision to get rid of our bikes back in 07..... Now that the kids are 10,11 and 12 she wants another bike.......and bad. I have my own habit to contend with (skis) and I can't blame her for wanting another bike but should I get it is the question!?

I have the loan all squared away, a good price negotiated with the seller and the insurance is far better now that I'm older with no tickets then it was when I rode. Still have to pull the trigger though................

I'd say, buy her a new mop and a new frying pan and send her out of your garage and back in the kitchen.

Hehehe..., JK.

Actually your wife sounds pretty cool.

BTW, that bike is badazz!

Don't get a loan to buy a toy. Save up to pay cash. Then buy her full gear and life insurance.

Living the dream.
I would rather my wife was alive and pissed off than dead. People just don't pay attention to motorcyclists these days. I haven't been on my bike in a year. (It needs a little work)... but the main reason is that I don't feel that I can trust the cages on the roadways. It really doesn't matter how careful you ride... you are sitting out there vulnerable and I have seen far too many videos and heard far too many stories of bikers injured or killed due to no fault of their own.

Does she not like the water?

i had to call her and tell her that comment.......lol. I haven't heard the sound of a dial tone in a while..

and she already owns an 08 superjet.

I also agree that toys get paid for with cash but I always pull out 1 or 2 year short term loans to pay for most stuff rather than emptying out accounts. it will most likely be paid off in less than a year if I pull the trigger

and ISOLDOUT when we were riding we were one of the only people in our group that always wore full gear. Helmet, glove, jackets and boots. Very firm believer in gear. We have both been down before

this is a pic of one of the last rides she took. If memory serves it was the Snake in Tennesse but I can't remember for sure. I was never much of the group rider when I rode

get the bloody bike. she wants one, what's the problem? youc an snag it from time to time when needs be. What's the problem?

lol. that's exactly what I can't do. I have ZERO self control which is the reason I got ride of my bike in the first place. I have a lot of respect for the bike but I abused the hell out of mine. I could never keep the front wheel down or keep from racing or doing burn outs. Jet skis better suit my style of self control..:)

The problem? The roads we travel on are not the same anymore....

Anybody with an open perspective would realize that and not encourage a loved one to test their life to the hands of today's motorists. Especially ones that have life commitments.

Granted you would need to account for the region your riding in but here in the congested northeast I'd think long and hard. Suicide Season opened here a month early and in no time it seems to be heading for a record pace.

If your one that needs the freedom of open range, wind thru your hair thrills I'd recommend other avenues. YMMV.
