I decided to tuck my primer away as to reduce the possibility of it being a shin buster. I had a nice open spot in the bracket area. It fits nicely. I also mounted the hood straps and the stainless steel eyelet for the limiting rope.20190620_154751.jpg20190620_155020.jpg

No real updates that warrant pictures yet.

I dropped my electrical off at a local electrician to clean the wiring up a bit since it was couch parts. They did a good job, I am waiting on some purple sheathing and 3:1 adhesive heat shrink, I am putting it on the SS switch and possibly the plug wires depending on how much I use on the harness.

I modified the bracket on the carb to use a Kawasaki throttle cable.

I trimmed the pvc scupper tube to match the exhaust tube.

Chased down a few spots on the turf with super glue.

Attempted to dry fit the pump and shoe. Off less than an eighth of an inch to get the pump bolts in. Probably need another set of hands to help compress the pump seal.

Swapped the midshaft over to a rebuilt SN housing. Old housing was borderline.

On Monday I am bringing the whole mess down to my local Jet ski guy that I traded work with. Its time to cash in on all that time I spent sweeping, organizing, and pulling motors for him this winter.

I use an Irwin 24” pistol grip bar clamp to install pumps,,, super easy one handed install then once tight the clamp holds pump in place while you have both hands free to install bolts. Easily compresses seal as much as you need to line up bolts.
Works best if steer nozzle is off. Hook in pump inlet/shoe and other end on reduction nozzle and give it a few squeezes. Some intake grates may need to be removed but most big freestyle intakes are open enough to hook the clamp.

I think I have an 18" Irwin, I doubt its long enough. Three able bodied adults should be able to get it in I suspect without the clamp but Im adding it to my shopping list for future builds.

Side note for anyone up in the great lakes region. Im planning on attending the Wave Rave free ride in August. Hopefully I will get a chance to meet some of you.

I’ll be there, looking forward to meeting you and the ski!

I made my limiting rope using a four strand round method of 550 cord. I didn't like the idea of metal bits under the pole in the way of a d-ring so I threaded it through the hole and tied it off to one of the pole support pillars.

This is amazing. A work of art AND engineering. Crazy devotion. I love it.
Thank you very much for the kind words. It truly is paying off. Hopefully I can get the Driveline in this weekend and get it out on the water , it depends on how everything goes together. It's not nearly as perfect as the pictures lead you to believe , I know where all the imperfections are lol

Hey we're all in the same boat. I bought a used aquabot and all my friends praise it, but I know it's actually BEAT! :p

I posted this build to reddit and while mostly positive, a few just dont appreciate how much time it takes to build something like this. I was "called out" regarding my 500hr estimate. Hahahaha.....

"500 hours....? Do you work blindfolded? Don't get me wrong dude it's a clean build but 500 hours? Nah. "

Mr. Reddit man, If you are reading this thread, since I linked it and I am sure you are a thorough individual and reading this comment as you finish all 25 pages. BOOYAAAH

Joking. If you are really here, I hope you can see that I was honest in my estimate.

Carry on....

I bench tested the electrical to try to figure out what was going on with my no start issue. It seems my starter has crapped the bed. I'm going to throw a Chinese back up I have in until I can get this one rebuilt at the local electrical shop.

I cleaned up the mating surfaces on the head and cylinder and put new O-rings in the Ada head. I also sanded down some pitting on the Dome from a previous engine failure. I am not running the girdles on this cylinder, its a T cylinder and should be beefy enough to not run the girdles, I also dont want to mod the cylinder to clear the girdles at this time.

The bore on this cylinder is borderline. It's got some mild pitting from surface rust. It should be fine as a hold over engine until I get the other cylinder ported and bored. Compression when I put her away last season was even and acceptable.20190709_133636.jpg
