Jeff's probably already shipped it

Its in the mail with yours Mike..........so I should have it by June :haha: JK

It was painted yesterday and he is still working on the hood. I was hopeing to make the build off but I think I am going to come up short. I told him to make that I would need the hull here in March. AT this rate I see the hull being at least anouther 2 weeks out which would get it here closer to May  I still have allot of work and fad to do to the ski once I have it b/c I am trying some new things out and want to water test the boat for tuning. Not looking good at this point :banghead:

I did order the new billet trim system from Virgin Waterworks today though

Yeah June 2008 sounds about right.

How is yours comming? Didin't Jeff just pay a kid 20 bucks to push it cross country on a skateboard :haha: Must have b/c it suposidly shipped almsot 2 months ago. When ever he finishes the X-jet I want pics of it complete and in the crate so I know it is done and on the way.

Plus I'm giving Riverrat plenty of warning that Jeff will not deliver anytime close to where he says he will. So he won't be as disappointed we he doesn't have his new hull this year

I think I will have it w/in 2 months but I just might not have it in time to do the build off. I only a little over a month to finish the build and yet 2 weeks of that the hull is still in OR. I can assemble it in 2 weeks (assuming there are no drawbacks) but still need to water test the boat. :ugh:

For reference the hull was ordered back in late Sept., bottom deck was suposidly done in November.....got pics to verify that in late March. Nov and December I let my build slide so Jeff could get the Daytona Raffle hull completed. I aslo asked for a prepreg topdeck in place of a wetlaid top deck back in december.........so that change added some time to the build. Luckily the body work is done and all the ski needs is paint and final assembly. I have no doubt that it will ship next week, but by the time I get it it may be to little to late for the mid May completion deadline.

You're no worse off than me. You better have a ski in the buildoff this year. I'm way behind my intended schedule. I should finally take my hull, hood, and pole to the painter on Monday and then he has to turn it around pretty quickly in order for me to assemble everything.

I just talked to Jeff, it seems he's making good progress on your hull, he said he will have pictures of it painted in a few days. And I don't think the hood is done yet. You must be getting a prepreg hood, they are a PITA to layup.

To my knowledge the hood is wetlaid w/ an aluminum core material. He would have had to construct a high temp prepreg hood mold for the x-jet. He had the prepreg mold for the top deck from when he was toying with prepreg a few years ago. The weight saving would have only been about 2lbs so we just opted to do a wetlaid hood. Still a PIA to lay up with a core material.

I would like to be in it.........I figure you need a little competition :cool2: Plus I have a couple of other little details I I have not posted :sneaky:

Bring it...looks like I'm about 3 days away from paint and graphics. It's unbelievable how much time the finishing body work takes.

I hear that......last year I must have been sanding for 5 days when I built the squarenose SJ. Good new, the X-jet is now painted and will ship this week. Guess our builds are running off the same clock  By the time yours gets back from paint I might have my hull in the garage. Still going to be tight
