Remind me to wear earplugs when I ride with you, that's going to be the loudest ski on the river this year.

I don't think so. Remember I was running a x-metal box w/ just front exhaust last season and that was not loud at all to me. If your boat is still together we can test it on the river next week

Ha! I got that very same waterbox, if you can call it that. It's really just a straight pipe made to look like a muffler. :haha:

I won't be putting it on my ski (Front exhaust  ), but it will go on the Square.

I thought it was a one-off sort of deal. Who made those?

PJS made them and to my knowledge they are old stock. Have you run it yet? Let me know how it sounds

Good idea. I'll do that.

Just for grins I attached each box to a leaf blower to force air through them. The X-metal sounded good as usual.....the resonator....OMG!! It emmits a high pitched squeel and it feel like someone set off a fire cracker off next to my head :haha: That is hillarious  Sounds like a pissed off tea kettle

One more small but note worthy mod to the kart tank. Ordered a cap with a barb fitting so I can mount the check valve. Bought it off the same site I found the tank. Unfortunatly I don't think they make the barbed cap for the 9 litre tank  I did not know this until the new cap arrived b/c all I only saw 1 different cap available, no option for tank size. Had to improvise a little and modify the vented cap that came on the 9 litre tank.

**Remove the two septums pressed into the bottom of the 9 litre cap, drill the vented pin hole out to a diameter that will accept the barb fitting, add the gaskets (maybe a little sealent as well) and reinstall. I could not find this kind of cap from Acceleration Kart Racing but this works just as well. Perhaps other places have the cap, I just liked this particular tank so I went with http://www.accelerationkarting.com/fuel.html

John at JSS did a great job wiring up the ignition system. System is mounted on a clear Lexann plate. Very Clean looking job  His electrical work is really top notch.

I forgot!
plate? what plate? i don't see no stinking plate, lol, where does that "plate" mount? I didn't see any holes predrilled to mount it to the stock box brackets.

I will drill those when I have the hull. That way I can mount it in whatever position I think looks best. he lexann is nice, if you have corbon work behind the plate you can really showcase that work as well. However having a plate that will hidewires and hoses would be nice as well. I amy end up blacking the back off with a sheet of aluminum to hide wires and hoses.

It's awesome to have a non-conductive mounting plate. One big issue I had in saltwater were some of my wiring shorting out against that plate (it's GND on my ski).

I don't think John will even use metal anymore....only epoxy board. I told him I did not like the looks of that so we decided to use lexann

man, with wiring that tightly placed it don't look like it needs covering. I think this summer if i get some extra $ i will buy a total loss off him and have him do the wiring harness and fancy case plugs. i almost sent my stock box to him but spent the money elsewhere.

Should get some hull pics tonight from Jeff. Topdeck will be painted this week.........PPG Screaming Yellow. Single stage paint can achually save almost 5lbs across the hull. By using less material in the paint process you can cut down on the overall thickness/weight. Plus it is easier to fix scratches. Cool color.

Also plan to install and new Virgin Waterworks pulley assisted trim system on this boat. 30 degrees of throw should get the job done pretty well. I am a trim freak anyway so you know the ski has to be sporting good system. All billit components. I was running a modified protec system last year but the cast trim ring broke loose. Billet should take care of that issue.

How did you figure 5 lbs? I'd say MAYBE a lb if that. My ski maybe has 1.5 quarts total paint on it, and most of that flashes off. I'd like to see a ski that has 5 lbs of paint on it. Even Luminore would only add 10 lbs to a ski and that's metal!

Obviously depends on the paintjob. Macks 24/7 hull, that paint weights quite a bit. For an elaborate job like his you will add that 5+lbs of paint material. Maros told him that with all the basecoats, metalflake, and clear there are about 16 coats of paint total. :cool2: Even my squarenose had about 6-8 coats of paint between primer, base, color and clear
