Project RiverRat II

I hear that......last year I must have been sanding for 5 days when I built the squarenose SJ. Good new, the X-jet is now painted and will ship this week. Guess our builds are running off the same clock  By the time yours gets back from paint I might have my hull in the garage. Still going to be tight

Yeah....neck and neck time wise. I spent 18 hours just this weekend sanding and filling and sanding and filling......still not done.

Trim System arrived today. The Virgin Waterworks system is very impressive. Good amount of throw and all billit construction. Comes with SS hardware, cable, trim ring, Pulley or striaght pull mechanism and a nice!! trigger. The trigger has a bearing system and spring so it is very smooth and comfortable to pull. Can't wait to try it out on the water. I already had the Protec nozzle and Raider style reduction nozzle so everything just bolted right up w/o a hitch. If you had a trim tube already installed I bet total installation time is only about 30 minutes.

Very high quality and I must say I am impressed. I always had slop in my trim system and steering system. This came w/ new bushings and elimated all of that excess play right out of the box..............it does not get much better than that. $495 for the system w/o steering or reduction nozzle.

I am in the process of modifying a freinds boat. He will do a trim eventually so I preclearenced it using the Virgin Waterworx system for mock up. Pretty much have to remove the complete rear lip all the way flush with the tray :headbang: Figured I would post some pics.........seeing it mounted in a hull puts it into perspective.

This is a old mod that I first saw on one of Chris Maros' boats..........so I am going to credit the mod to him. Really nice way to mount a blige switch. Very clean and effective. I still need to smooth everything out but you get the idea.

Is it actually complete? After re-reading some of this, the last you really knew seems to be the topdeck is unpainted and needs the wings trimmed, and no hood.

According to Jeff it is complete and it should have shipped yesterday but I cannot get in touch with him. I asked for some pics of it complete before it shipped out for insurnace purposes and peice of mind but that was a few days ago. I am still on the fence about the GA ride, not sure that will be a viable option for me at this point. I will be pulling some extra shifts at work the next few weeks, have a wedding to attend, a freinds boat to finish and will only have a couple of hours here and there to complete the build.

Sounds like you'll have less time than I do. I may stick the elect box in the ski tomorrow and go for a spin to see how the shoulder feels.
